This is setting up perfectly for the Pats. Focus all the attention on the Packers, and set the Ravens up as the team to beat in the AFC.

Meanwhile, the Pats defense is clearly improving, and they are getting reinforcements. A solid running game doesn't hurt either.

Totally agree. Marshall looked like he was intentionally point shaving. One dropped pass. One veer right to cause an easy interception for Revis, one knock down he should have boxed out and the worst one... intentionally running out of bounds on a sure TD. I watched the replay of that over and over. It had to be on purpose.

Not saying I agree with Eagles fans but come on... let's be realistic here. You're going to go with your facts Skins fan? While not a lot can dispute your points, and they are solid ones, since when do these facts account for anything else other than "could'a, should'a, would'a." Bottom line, at the end of the game, the other team won and you guys lost. REALLY!!! And not that these standings really mean anything but come on now. As someone in this blog pointed out, let us see at the end of the season. I don't and can't understand why people want to make assertions in the middle of the season about their teams chances of making it to the playoffs, unless your team have dominated since the start of the season or you have lost every single game, you cannot make an assumption. Ever heard of a winning or a losing streak? REALLY!!! Come on Skins fans, you guys win a few games and you think you'll win it all. There's 16 weeks in a season, a long season at that. Then the playoffs, where the weak teams get booted. Then let's talk SuperBowl.

The Packers have been taking care of business. They beat the Saints (NFC Championship preview) and had to rally to beat the best 1-5 team in the NFL (the Panthers), but other than that they've dominated and taken care of business. The score of the Chicago game didn't tell the tale of how far apart the two clubs were. The best team in any pro sport will DOMINATE teams playing poorly. The Packers are taking care of that, showing what a good team does. They checked out at halftime against the Rams b/c they could. How about this: would an overrated team take a 24-3 halftime lead, completely check out, and hold another professional team to ZERO points in 15 minutes of football? Doubtful. The Packers last week were down a starting lineman on an already beat-up O-line when they lost arguably their best O-lineman in Clifton. Guys stepped up. They're #1 because they have 0 losses, but also because of how they've won. Gritty win against Atlanta, taking care of business butt whooping against Denver, and a well-earned check-out against St. Louis, and overcoming a terrible call that moved their best opponent thus far to the one yard-line. Yep, they win all ways.

Will you Eagles fans shutup. Yes you beat the Skins on Sunday but lets look at the facts. You got 4 turnovers yet beat us by a grand total of 7 pts while having JOHN BECK continue to show everyone exactly what your defense is about in the 4th quarter. Doesnt sound like a contender to me. You belong exactly where you are in the both the rankings and the standings.

---------------------------------------

You're embarrassing yourself, friend. Our defense dominated you throughout the game. We gave up ONE touchdown. You had 48 yards rushing. McCoy alone had 126. The only legit criticism you can have is that we didn't score in the 2nd half, where your defense played better.

“Apparently Houston and Baltimore, for starters.

Then I’m guessing New England, Baltimore again, San Fran, probably Cinncy twice ……

Pretty much any team over .500, it looks like.

Predicting a 9-7 season for your Steelers, 10-6 at best.

Not the stuff that wins a 7th Lombardi.”

Ok, no matter the record, if the Steelers make the playoffs, they have a good chance of winning it all. If you don’t remember, the Steelers were the first #6 seed to ever win the Super Bowl and that was Super Bowl 40. Granted that team was 11-5. Plus, what logic tells you that the Steelers will lose to Cincy twice? The Steelers have had a track record of beating the Bengals, even the good Bengals teams. Also, they get Baltimore at home and New England at home. I think they at least win one out of the two games. Once again, you’d probably be better off not responding to this guy and putting your biases aside.

__
You have to excuse poormoron2256's idiocy, bharvey. He's just another in a long line of New England idiot bandwagon fans, who weren't Pats fans pre-2001. He will try and claim otherwise, citing several factoids recently mined from Wikipedia, but in the end, he is exposed as the homer idiot that he and his fellow (supposedly diehard) Pats fans are. Your Ravens are deservedly ranked ahead of the overhyped Pats. Dallas showed how to slow down their offense for the most part, only to fail due to the ineptitude of their offense to run out the clock. Your Ravens are far superior to Dallas on defense and won't make the same mistake on offense when both teams meet this season.

southpaw2k says:
So you’re holding the fact that the Ravens had their bye week against them? Ravens have the #1 overall defense in the league and given up nearly half the amount of points the Patriots have. They also have a larger point differential (+50 to +77) to the Patriots. Ravens definitely deserve to be ranked above the Pats.
—————————————————————
Duh ….. YEAH.

I’m not arguing that the Ravens aren’t better than the Pats, or the Pats are better than the Ravens. Frankly, the Ravens scare the crap out of Patriot fans. Those games can (and do!) go either way.

But simple logic tells you that if two teams are 4-1, and one wins a 5th game while the other sits out a week, then the 5-1 team gets ranked higher that week, if only for winning that one more game.

NOT how "power rankings" work, poormoron2256.

Particularly the one on PFT.

"Apparently Houston and Baltimore, for starters.

Then I’m guessing New England, Baltimore again, San Fran, probably Cinncy twice ……

Pretty much any team over .500, it looks like.

Predicting a 9-7 season for your Steelers, 10-6 at best.

Not the stuff that wins a 7th Lombardi."

Ok, no matter the record, if the Steelers make the playoffs, they have a good chance of winning it all. If you don't remember, the Steelers were the first #6 seed to ever win the Super Bowl and that was Super Bowl 40. Granted that team was 11-5. Plus, what logic tells you that the Steelers will lose to Cincy twice? The Steelers have had a track record of beating the Bengals, even the good Bengals teams. Also, they get Baltimore at home and New England at home. I think they at least win one out of the two games. Once again, you'd probably be better off not responding to this guy and putting your biases aside.

I may be crazy, but who has Green Bay played besides the Saints on Opening Night, and they needed a goal line stop with no time left to make sure they didn't tie the game up after blowing a huge lead. Carolina is 1-5 and they needed a comeback to beat them. Chicago obviously is garbage, but we'll leave that one to the side. Denver...Atlanta is overrated vastly and they had to make a comeback versus them. St Louis is worse than Miami. The idea that Green Bay is "unbeatable" and no one could stay within 20 points of them is just insane.

Second half, they go @ SD, have a bye vs Minnesota, vs Tampa, @ Detroit, @ Giants, vs OAK, bye vs KC, chicago and Detroit again. There's at least 3 losses in there, maybe more. Overrating the Packers has got to stop.

southpaw2k says:
So you’re holding the fact that the Ravens had their bye week against them? Ravens have the #1 overall defense in the league and given up nearly half the amount of points the Patriots have. They also have a larger point differential (+50 to +77) to the Patriots. Ravens definitely deserve to be ranked above the Pats.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Duh ..... YEAH.

I'm not arguing that the Ravens aren't better than the Pats, or the Pats are better than the Ravens.
