This sucks. With them letting Cadillac go, Graham was the one guy on the team who could be trusted to stay on the field on 3rd down; he could catch and, more importantly, actually recognize blitzers and block. Lumpkin appears to be basically a less-agile Blount, a one-cut power guy. Not expecting much from Lumpkin at all.

Why did they put Bradford on the practice squad a week after giving him his first NFL carries? Boggles the mind.

Graham was one of those guys who truly earned his way into the NFL. Undrafted, floated around for a few years making a roster and then getting dropped, got his shot as a starter, lost his starter job and never complained in any way. Did all the little things, just a class act and consummate teammate. Just really lousy luck.

If you had actually taken the time to watch the play a few times, you would see that he came down hard on that right foot and it was a bit behind him on bad turf. Recipe for a torn achilles. He didn’t even put that foot down again after he put his left down, he folded out of excruciating pain!

@pir8life – they had plenty of bodies in training camp – They’ve been hit by a lot of injuries, and then just this week they made the boneheaded move of putting Allen Bradford on the practice squad, and Seattle snatched him up on waivers.

With all the concerns over player safety the last few years and ridiculous rule changes (not talking about horsecollar tackles), you would think Goodell would do his due diligence and ensure that the turf at Wembley was appropriate for an NFL game.

You could tell things weren’t “right” when it happened. Too bad for EG, he is the consummate team player. Here’s hoping for a healthy recovery for Earnest.

As for the Bucs, how do you feel about your backfield now? Should have brought in a F/A during training camp.
