J.P. Losman is back

Sage Rosenfels is out for the season, once again.

The Dolphins placed Rosenfels on the non-football injury list Tuesday and signed J.P. Losman to replace him on the roster. The Giants also put Rosenfels on injured reserve earlier this year when Rosenfels struggled with strep throat and back issues.

Eventually Rosenfels was released by the Giants and replaced Chad Henne on the roster in Miami.

“When I first joined the Dolphins, all tests showed that I was healthy and ready to go. But after practicing for a few weeks, especially in the heat, some new indications made it obvious that I need to rest and allow my body to regain all requisite strength,” Rosenfels said in a statement.

I’m feeling mixed emotions on this one. It’s great to see a Tulane product like Losman back in the league. (Even if Losman is no Shaun King.)

Still, it’s sad to see Rosenfels’ season end before he could be featured in the leaflet of famous Jewish sports legends.
