You may be right about that. How I remember it was they mentioned an issue with the sun being a problem before the ball was even kicked though. They did not say, “he’s got his hand up to shield the sun in order to field the ball”. It was simply, “He put his hand up”, while the ball was in the air. In either case I thought the officiating stunk. I agree with ninerdynasty about this crew. They are horrible. When the game first started and I saw who the crew was I said to myself, look for lots of flags in this game. The head official just can’t get enough face time on tv it seems, hence the flags strewn all over the field all game long.

The signal for a fair catch is not a player raising their hand in the air to block the sun. The signal for a fair catch is a player raising their hand above their head and moving it from side to side and back again. This rule was implemented so officials could tell the difference between a player calling for a fair catch and a player trying to see the ball. Leon Washington was blocking the sun.

Accept the fact that ur team sucks – sure a few talented players scattered around but that’s that.

As a niner’s fan, i’ve dealt with this same sentiment for a very long time too. Even @ 5-1 we’re still trying to prove something.

It’s hard to defend againsts the masses when ur team isn’t putting up a good product on the field – but all u can do is support it if ur a true fan, and i’m sure you are. Blown calls all over the league, it won’t be the first and hardly the last.

It’s been too many times the refs have made a severe impact on a game with horrible phantom calls, or more frequently, PI calls/non-calls.

Fine these refs and hold them responsible for adversely affecting the outcome of a game.

If the league fines players for every little thing just for them playing, they need to fine the refs for blowing it.

At the very least, Jon Gruden made a very very very great point last week when he proposed that coaches should have the ability to challenge questionable PI calls/non-calls because they are the most frequent calls that have the biggest impact on a game.

I’m tired of these refs, start finin’ em!

All that being said, Charlie Whitehurst screwed the pooch against the browns. I love the Seahawks and I really wanted to see Charlie do well, but he really stunk it up and so bad officiating really ate away at what little we had going for us.

Take your own advice. Most folks here are simply saying that no one likes to see the refs make such a difference in the outcome of a game. If the game had been called properly then it would have been a better game between two teams that just didn’t play well offensively.

That play may have robbed the Browns of a TD just like the “block in the back” robbed the Seahawks of one. There. Now everything’s even. Quit whining.

I remember exactly what you’re referring to, but you are not representing it right at all. Mora was talking, at that point in time, about the sun playing a factor, and Leon Washington had his hand up to block the sunlight from his eyes. That’s what they were talking about. It’s “not verbatim” but my representation is closer than yours. He was not signaling for a fair catch. It was obvious that he was blocking the sunlight and NOT calling for a fair catch.

Now, as for the complaining.. dude, you have betters things to worry about, your team was only able to score 3 points… Submit your weekly complains to the league and get back to work..

On another note, it’s Pete Carroll, he’s not going to be any better, maybe worst than Pete Carroll at NE or SD.
