Getty ImagesOn Monday, Chiefs cornerback Brandon Flowers joined PFT Live. The day before, he did something slightly more significant.
Flowers picked off two passes against the Raiders, returning one for a touchdown. For his contributions to Kansas City’s impressive 28-0 win over the Raiders, Flowers has been named the AFC defensive player of the week.
It’s the first such award for Flowers in his career. He has four interceptions on the season, and the Chiefs have rebounded from an 0-3 start to even their record at 3-3.
Flowers told me Monday that the Chiefs are the team to beat in the AFC West. It’s hard to disagree with him.

Ya, if you’re the Denver Bronco’s in the battle for the basement.
Yes if the Chiefs win Monday they will be tied for first and have the tie breakers over chargers and raiders.
Congrats to Brandon… an up and coming star in the league. For real, For real!!
The Chiefs have come a long way from the beginning of the season. The Chargers seem to be returning to their underachieving form, the Raiders QB situation is far from stable, and the Broncos just plain stink.
The Chiefs still have a great shot of winning the AFC West.
Wow, he’s talented. Although I still prefer the Killers over his solo work.
Still, congrats on being so versatile.
Flowers is a stud.
the chiefs may not win the west, but i think they’ll finish at least 2nd.
Most underrated player in the league
Great game by 24 but those who watched know Derrick Johnson was actually the best player on the football field on Sunday.
Great to see he’s able to be such a great football player and a talented singer. I loved “All These Things That I’ve Done.”
