Grossman released from hospital

Redskins quarterback Rex Grossman showed up for work on Sunday, despite having pneumonia.  His condition was so bad that he was admitted to a hospital on Monday — and he remained hospitalized for two days.

At a time when new mothers are sent packing barely 24 hours after popping out a papoose and my 74-year-old father-in-law was back at his house barely three days after having a hip replaced, the fact that a pro athlete spent two days in a hospital for anything means that the pro athlete must have been very sick.

Coach Mike Shanahan said Grossman was released from the hospital at roughly noon today.  Shanahan said that Grossman is expected to visit the facility on Wednesday night.  The Redskins play the Bills in Toronto on Sunday.

Get well bro. Could this have been the reason why he threw all those INTS vs Philly????

As much as I criticized him, I am honestly glad he’s getting better. See, no wise acre comment, or nothing….

He’d be more likable if he changed the format of his name to ‘Gross-Man’

I’ve had pneumonia twice in the last two years. That is some awful crap to have, glad he’s better.

Sounds like you are not a big fan of our health care system. Can’t blame you, it sucks. Worse than Grossman.

I hope no one criticizes or questions his dedication to his team, or his toughness. Pneumonia so bad it hospitalizes you for two days….but he still showed up at the team facility? Pretty hard core…..

a scarier thought may be, what if a pro football player gets better health care simply because he is a pro football player? personally i am ok with it. after all, they are gods to all of us that follow this site. correct?

Get well Rex. When you don’t have your health , you don’t have anything..

Would it be in poor taste to point out Grossman was probably sick about his 4-pick performance that led to his being benched in favor of the pro-bowl caliber QB, John Beck? Yeah, that would be in poor taste….
Seriously, though- pnuemonia sucks and I’m glad he’s well enough to be released from the hospital.

Grossman wasn’t the only one affected by the flu that caused the pneumonia, it was going around the team. London Fletcher pulled a Jordan and puked throughout the game and still played. Not saying Grossman should have, but what kind of guy pukes between series and then still goes out and has a VERY good game blowing people up? This game is nuts…in a good way! 🙂

It’s good to see Grossman on the mend, hopefully the rest of the team can follow suit and give a good showing in Toronto, they need it badly.

I commend him for being dedicated. That said, he really sucks and shouldn’t be in the league

Oh wow really hard core. He’s sick, sits in a hospital bed for two days watching TV and we’re supposed to think he’s hard core cause he got a ride to the facility where he did what, walk around and talk to people…wow amazing accomplishment. Dude is a true warrior….you people are f’n retarded.

Maybe being sick helped him lose some weight….HAHA Just kidding, glad he’s better, but seriously…I bet it did help him trim down the beer gut.

Even with modern medicine, pneumonia can still be quite deadly. I lost a family member to pneumonia about a decade ago.

Glad to hear Rex has made a complete recovery.

    Now, Rex, about those INTs…
