On his last pass of Sunday’s loss to the Falcons, Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford took a hit to the leg that had thousands of fans at Ford Field holding their breath. But three days later, Stafford appears ready to start this week against the Broncos.

The Detroit Free Press reports that everyone who talked about Stafford thinks he’ll be ready to go in Denver.

“He looked good. Whipping the ball around,” receiver Nate Burleson said. “I don’t really know the diagnosis; I don’t even know how bad it is. All I know is he was out there today, throwing the ball around.”

Stafford was limited in practice, but no one seems to be worried about whether he can go on Sunday.

“Hopefully, we can keep him on that track, and if he’s able to go Sunday, then he will,” coach Jim Schwartz said. “He’s our starting quarterback, but we’ve got to be prepared in any case.”
