Sam Bradford feeling better, but still not ready to go

Three days after Rams quarterback Sam Bradford missed a game for the first time in his NFL career, he said his injured ankle is feeling better. But he was also held out of practice once again amid increasing talk that he’ll have to miss his second consecutive game.

It did feel much better today than when we put it in the cast on Saturday,” Bradford told the Belleville News-Democrat on Wednesday. “The pain and soreness that I woke up with on Saturday is gone.”

However, just because Bradford is feeling better doesn’t mean he’s ready to get on the field. Bradford sat out Wednesday’s practice and was in a protective boot, and it’s looking more likely that A.J. Feeley will start against the Saints on Sunday.

Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo isn’t going to rush his franchise quarterback back on the field.

“We’re not going to put weight on it or do any bouncing around until it feels right,” Spagnuolo said.

And at the moment, Bradford’s ankle -- like so much going on with the Rams -- still doesn’t feel right.
