Bengals activate Pacman Jones

For the first time in more than a year, Adam “Pacman” Jones is ready to play football.

Jones, who last played on October 24, 2010, has been added to the Bengals’ 53-man roster.

After spending a year rehabilitating his neck injury, and after opening the season on the Physically Unable to Perform list, Jones is now finally ready to play.

A former Titan and Cowboy whose off-field problems have overshadowed his on-field contributions, Jones has been relatively quiet both on and off the field in Cincinnati.

Bam! Look out Vikes. The lead in arrests could disappear overnight.

Someone PLEASE make a “make it rain” joke. Those are so new and original!

  3. jimbobobjr says: Oct 28, 2011 2:31 PM

    …and there goes the chemistry.

  4. carsons401k says: Oct 28, 2011 2:33 PM

He brings much needed depth to our orange suited lineup. Who Dey!

  5. ghostrider25 says: Oct 28, 2011 2:33 PM

Ugghh, I thought we had finally heard the last of this guy. I guess he heard Vince Young tried to “make it rain” and “Pacman” doesn’t like to be upstaged.

  6. benh999 says: Oct 28, 2011 2:35 PM

What’s the over-under on how many games he will play this year (before arrest, suspension, injury, etc)?

  7. Deb says: Oct 28, 2011 2:41 PM

Since he has been behaving himself off-field, this is good news for Cincy. If he’s still got his speed, he can only help the Bengals continue their roll.

  8. bengalguy says: Oct 28, 2011 2:42 PM

Is it any coincedence he gets activated the week Cincinnati travels to Seattle……the city that has the highest average “RAINFALL” in the country?

  9. clubberone says: Oct 28, 2011 3:05 PM

    He’s a playmaker. I’m glad he’s back.

  10. purplekoolaid1 says: Oct 28, 2011 3:12 PM

Sigh, it was only a matter of time before a “rain” joke (if you can call it that) was posted. So pathetic and embarrassing.

  11. 808raiderinparadise says: Oct 28, 2011 3:29 PM

The team also handed out bullet proof vests before practice.

  12. bringbacktheflex says: Oct 28, 2011 3:29 PM

I thought he was on the MUP – Mentally Unable to Play.

  13. phillyfan4ever says: Oct 28, 2011 3:31 PM

If this thread were about Michael Vick there would already be 100 dog fighting jokes

Just goes to show you, the better the player, the more haters they garner. :D

I wonder what is the weather forecast in Cincinnati on Sunday?

Seriously…he should be given props for staying out of trouble the past year…

  15. doug2626 says: Oct 28, 2011 4:06 PM

Glad to see he’s back and hope it works out for him.

  16. chocolatebaconbutter says: Oct 28, 2011 4:17 PM

Hey Vikes, when it rains it pours.

    ZING! You like that Tommyf15?

  17. FromThisSeat.com says: Oct 28, 2011 4:36 PM

He has been arrested twice since being in Cincinnati. I think both charges were dropped, not sure how everyone missed these arrests. He’s never going to change.

What’s sad is the Bengals are now going to have to make a roster spot for Jones and cut a guy that has been playing and stays out of trouble.

  18. upyoursnfu says: Oct 28, 2011 4:36 PM

Is he out on work release now?

  19. nflfollower says: Oct 28, 2011 4:39 PM

The forecast in Cincy is calling for rain

Wait until the pain medication wears off…he’ll make up for lost time.

To the citizens of Cincinnati: Kevlar, Kevlar, get your Kevlar now.

  21. uberniner says: Oct 28, 2011 4:46 PM

Some people do grow up. Give him a chance. This is a low risk deal for the team. If he screws up, it’s over. People pay their debt, and they get another chance.

  22. samoanjungle says: Oct 28, 2011 4:51 PM

The guy seems to be growing up, has been a good father and has generally kept cool so I will hold off on the negative comments about his past for now.

  23. 1captain1 says: Oct 28, 2011 5:23 PM

And the weather at game time?

Cloudy with a chance of making it rain!

    Yeah boyz!

  24. seahawks4alltime says: Oct 28, 2011 5:42 PM

What’s all this rain talk? I don’t get it.

  25. bangitfootball says: Oct 28, 2011 5:44 PM

Pac man can only make it rain now with monopoly money. Even when he was working every week after he made it rain he had his homies pick up all the money and return it to him lol

  26. rgwhodey says: Oct 28, 2011 5:45 PM

phillyfan the thread isn’t about vick its about Adam Jones… Actually nothing to do with the eagles.. hows the dream team coming along this year? Weird..
    Just sayin’

  30. brownsapologist says: Oct 29, 2011 1:51 AM

What’s with all of these “make it rain” jokes?! Did everyone forget that he was being “rebellion” by going to the “scrip” club? Period. Point blank.

  31. robcypher says: Oct 29, 2011 10:53 AM

I heard his favorite movie is Rain Man.

  32. jm91rs says: Oct 29, 2011 11:29 AM

The guy could be a great return man / nickel corner. He was no good in Dallas, partly because his athleticism made him think he could freelance every play. He seems to be willing to play into Zimmer’s system and showed flashes early in Cincinnati.

I’m guessing he has changed a bit and has been humbled for now. I heard an interview the other day and he used the correct words in every sentence and actually pronounced them all pretty well. Obviously something is different than his days in Dallas.

  33. crip2nite says: Oct 29, 2011 3:00 PM

They play In Seattle this week. Not Cincy!

  34. axespray says: Oct 30, 2011 4:58 AM
