The Cardinals are the new Lions on the road

Arizona has a long way to go to match Detroit’s record-setting 26-game road losing streak, but they could be halfway home pretty soon.

Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic notes that the Cardinals have lost ten straight on the road since winning the season opener in St. Louis last year.

The Cardinals next three road games: At Baltimore, Philadelphia, and San Francisco. Yeah, we don’t see them winning any of those games. That would run the streak to 13.

Coach Ken Whisenhunt is superstitious and has tried to vary his routine.

“I have tried everything,” Whisenhunt said. “Hopefully, this week it will work. We’re going to get back in one [a routine] here soon that works.”

A streak like this is a reminder that the Cardinals have been among the worst teams in football for a year and a half now. They are 3-14 in their last 17 games.

It’s almost like the Kurt Warner era never happened, and the Cardinals are right back to being the Cardinals.
