Seahawks announce Jackson as starter, Whitehurst starts anyway

Tarvaris Jackson is active for Sunday’s game against the Bengals, but he’ll start the game on the sideline.

Charlie Whitehurst was out with the Seahawks starter to open Sunday’s game, which came as a surprise. The Seahawks announced Jackson as the team’s starting quarterback, then made a change at the last minute for an unexplained reason.  Jackson remains available.

The Bengals lead 10-0 early. Whitehurst was sacked on a three and out to start the game, so perhaps he won’t stay in the game for long.

UPDATE: And Tarvaris Jackson has entered the game with the score 10-3.

    Why do bad teams play games with QB gameday starters? It never works. It only confuses your own team.

    I seriously can’t believe the downward spiral of this team since 2005. It is just pathetic that we can’t hire a DECENT coach for this team. I hope we fire Pete the Cheat and go after Jeff Fisher before some other team gets him.

    Looks like we just maybe finally busted the longstanding Bengal curse of the Thrownin’ Samoan Jack Thompson!

    Dalton looked like a real vet taking charge of the game for himself on his first trip in!

    & Just think if Stripes wouldn’t have been so flat coming in after the bye week?
