The last thing the Redskins offense needs right now is another injury.
They’ve got one, though. Tight end Fred Davis was spotted in a walking boot at Redskins headquarters by Washington D.C.'s WJLA-TV on Monday. John Keim of the Washington Examiner reports that coach Mike Shanahan said that Davis has a grade one ankle sprain and doesn’t know at this time whether or not Davis will miss any games because of the injury.
Grade one is the least severe level of an ankle sprain so there’s a good chance that Davis will be able to play sooner rather than later. The Redskins certainly need him. Davis has developed into a useful part of the passing game this season, 36 catches for 517 yards and two touchdowns, and his stature in the offense is only going up with Chris Cooley done for the season.
