With running backs Peyton Hillis and Montario Hardesty injured, the Browns needed to add a running back for Week Nine. They signed Thomas Clayton.
Then, the Browns needed to create a roster spot. And they waived receiver Brian Robiskie.
A second-round pick in the 2009 draft, Robiskie was touted as the most game-ready wideout of the class. In three seasons, he has 31 games appearances and 14 starts (two this year). He has caught 34 passes for 441 yards and three touchdowns.
Robiskie will now pass through waivers. If unclaimed, he’ll become a free agent.
In 2009, the Browns actually drafted two receivers in the second round -- Robiskie and Mohamed Massaquoi.
