Oh I see, so we’re going to judge everything based on one game. I prefer to judge the Eagles on their game vs. the Giants. Eli threw 4 TD passes and Vick had a passer rating of 43. Clearly, Lesean McCoy and Nnamdi Asomugha didn’t do enough to keep it from happening.

The NFL players ranked Peppers as the10th best player in the NFL and Ware as the 12th best. People assume Ware is better than Peppers because he gets more sacks, well considering Ware’s played in an aggressive attack style scheme as a jack linebacker, his whole career, he’s gonna have more sacks. Ware lines up very wide and just pins his ears back and rushes the QB. He did that in Wade Phillips scheme as well who is known for racking up big sack seasons for his OLB’s……a list of some of the players Phillips has coached to double digit sack seasons in his scheme

Try watching a Cowboy sometime and you will see Ware go out into coverage, thats right Ware goes into coverage, could Peppers do that, i dont think so.

One game doesn’t make a season. But if Philly puts on similar shows the next couple weeks, with apologies to 49ers fans, they’ll be the only NFC team that’s a real threat to the Pack.

Dallas has easy pickings the next few weeks so their record could be pretty good. But they were roasted, toasted, steamed and dry cleaned by the Eagles, who were clearly superior last week.

I thought LT broke his leg, not his head. He surely has forgotten how much LT dominated the game when he played. There has not been another D player who created as much impact on the game as Taylor. The only other player I can think of to have changed the way the game is played in their respective sport is what Bobby Orr did with the NHL.

I enjoy watching both Peppers and Ware play. They play in different D schemes so to say one is better than the other by personal choice. Both players are among the very best at their positions but not the best of “all time”. One other remarkable stat about both players is how durable they have been during their careers.

I like D. Ware…only Cowboy I’ll say that about…

He had 4 sacks, yes…even Michaels said it was the quitest 4 sack game he’d ever seen…

2 of them were naked bootlegs…nobody blocked him…not Ware’s fault, but…less impressive anyway…

1 of the other 2 he was fortunate Vick pretty well ran into him…

The Sack/Fumble play was Ware at his best, pure speed…great play, by a great player.

The Eagles gameplan took advantage of Ware in the run game…he had a great game by the stats…but the Iggles ran counters/stretches/draws right past Ware….through MONSTROUS holes…he was just fed right up-field.

Stats don’t tell the story in NFL games…or the Eagles would be undefeated…(maybe 1 loss)

While he made a few plays, he is a great player…most of the game he was being destroyed.

I was/am as shocked as anyone, but it’s true.

BS, you’re not going to make a living running at DeMarcus Ware and if you could then teams would be trying it more often. He doesn’t line up any further outside than any other 3-4 OLB and Eagles game notwithstanding the Cowboys are still one of the best teams against the run no matter where teams decide to run. Don’t let one game cloud your judgment.

Think Bryce Paup after he left the Green Bay Packers — for whom he was an end in a 4-3 scheme — and then compiled 17.5 sacks as linebacker for the Bills in 1995, when Phillips was defensive coordinator.

Julius Peppers has always played in a scheme where they only rush 4 down lineman and hardly ever bilitz making it much easier for him to be double teamed and chipped by backs and tightends. He also doesn’t line up as wide as Ware does which makes it easier for the offensive tackle to stay in front of Peppers. There are many factors that way in when it comes to racking up sack numbers. Peppers also gets more passes defensed which is a wasted down by the offense, he gets more interceptions which gives his team the ball, he gets more blocked kicks which wipes points off the board, he gets more forced fumbles per sack ratio as well. Ware is dominant, but he’s not quite Peppers IMO. Put Peppers in Ware’s scheme and he would have broke the sack record already.

At one point Peppers did want to play for a team that runs a 3-4 defense, I wish he would have to shut up the doubters.

Carey said ideally Peppers wants to play in a 3-4 defensive system where he can stand up and roam the field as a hybrid defensive end/outside linebacker, similar to how the Dallas Cowboys use DeMarcus Ware and how the San Diego Chargers have used Shawne Merriman in the past before his injury.

So basically he doesn’t want to have a lot of run responsibility, he just wants to rush the quarterback and compile as many sacks as he possibly can. At 6’7″, 283 pounds, Peppers would easily be the biggest linebacker in the NFL.

good for him, he got some sacks on an offensive line that has been insulted and dragged through the mud by every NFL analyst in the world.

shady’s 35 yard run prior to punching in a touchdown is available from multiple angles on NFL.com and you can very clearly see him get manhandled (he was barely even trying) by brent celek on a back end block. ware was in position to drag mccoy down and stop him for about 5 or 6 but celek did not let him move an inch.

No… Wade got fired because he lost the team.

As for the offense, it’s still the #8 offense in the NFL, gaining an average of 6.2 yards per offensive play (6th).

The best thing about Ware, besides his performance, is that he doesn’t run his mouth, doesn’t complain, doesn’t accuse. He plays and he plays well. He doesn’t get many penalties, and has no reputation as a dirty player. Guys like Suh and James Harrison could learn a thing or two from this guy.
