After his punt return touchdown sealed the Bengals’ victory on Sunday, Brandon Tate has been named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week.

On the day Tate had three punt returns for 73 yards, including that 56-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter of the Bengals’ 34-12 win. Tate also had four kickoff returns for 113 yards.

The touchdown was the first on a punt return for the Bengals since Peter Warrick scored one in 2003.

A former third-round draft pick of the Patriots, Tate was claimed by the Bengals off waivers from New England on September 4, after Tate failed to make the Patriots’ 53-man roster.
