Thanks for putting neatly into a small package (yours) all the reasons that the rest of Packers fans get a bad reputation. Champions or not, your attitude and words make you a bastard.

I thought Packers Faithful were proud of their "Truth, Justice and Green Bay" take on all things football. They proclaim Honor and Righteousness over Minny in all things because the Vikings haven't won any Super Bowls; But they are generally pretty fair about it.

You have to be awake and conscious to type here, so you don't have the excuse of being drunk. You can't claim that someone else took a fat Sharpie and wrote "I'm A Dick" on your face.

A couple of things:

First, Zygi Wilf has done everything in his power to work with the state and keep the Vikings here. He's offered $400 million of his own money for a stadium, whereas starting January 1, he's likely to get multiple offers from other cities that will require far less, if any, of his money to build a new stadium.

What's Wilf supposed to do then, tell them 'No, thanks. I'd rather stay in Minnesota and sign a new lease on an outdated stadium that doesn't generated NFL-level profits, and hope that the state eventually wants to take my $400 million to help build a new stadium."? I wouldn't blame Wilf for leaving, but if that happens, I can't wait to hear the whining from the state politicians over lost revenue, followed by a strong movement to build a new stadium to attract another team.

Second, I'm surprised at the number of Packer fans posting here to belittle Viking fans; the Packer fans I know are better people than that. You fellas need to get a life.

Please don’t any one say Toronto again as a possible site for a Vikings move. I’m a Canadian Vikes fan and the thought of my favorite football team in Toronto is really painful. I hate anything involved in Toronto sports as do most clear thinking Canadian fans especially those of us in Western Canada. Please Vikings, stay in Minnesota where you have a great history of exciting teams.

Sorry but Toronto is the sports capital of Canada. Deal with it. I'd welcome the vikes in a heartbeat. It's the rioting west coasters that are the problem with Canadian sports.

How about building an outdoor stadium in Eau Claire, WI.

Not so far from the Twin Cities.

Lots of room for tailgating.

Escapes all the MN legislative bull.

WI benefits from the economic activity the team generates.

If the Jints and Jets can play in New Jersey, the Vikes can play in WI.

Two teams for WI!

Regarding your genius posting:

1) Since you could "care less" about the Vikings... I guess that means you COULD care? The expression is "I could NOT care less"..

2) Regardless of your useless opinion on the value of their rivalry, they are in fact the GREATEST rival of the Packers in the Division and also the team that has consistently outperformed the Packers over the years in terms of actual Modern Day success in terms of Division championships, etc.

So go on being a provocative idiot. It worked. You pissed all the Vikings fans off.

Which I'm sure is your goal.

Hmmmm...... Given the name you have chose to hide behind on here, this sounds awfully hypocritical. Not that I expect anything less from someone who seems to think "lavender" is going to get us all lathered up.

Do the world a favor. Crawl out of mommy's basement (quietly, so your stepdad doesn't beat you again) and go try that stupid lie-in-the-middle-of-the-road thing. You'd make a good speed bump. You certainly don't seem to have any other use.....

On a side note..... the state could pay for the whole stadium by imposing a .5% pay cut (for those bad at math, that's $5 for every $1,000) on each full-time state employee.

Whoa!! That's too much!! For some poor teacher making $30,000/year, that's $150!!!

Right.... So, since state employees are only 6.5% of the residents of the state, and the state is only paying a third of the stadium, the tax imposition spread to all residents would be....what now?

I understand that a dollar is a dollar, and that a lot of people have a problem with paying for a professional sports arena (although funding for a non-professional sports arena doesn't seem to incur near the outrage), but let's be real. This is not financial doom for the people of Minnesota. Would you be up in arms if your property taxes went up $5? Maybe... Would you even notice if the tax on your resturaunt bill went from 7.5% to 7.6%? Probably not. This is the level we are talking about. $300 million is a lot of money. $16.7 million/year is a lot of money. The state already runs through $35.8 BILLION of your money every year. If you really feel that you deserve a voice in whether your money is spent on this, why don't you insist on getting a vote on the rest of it?

"Let me get this straight. You want us to show sympathy for the worst fans in the NFL?"

I would hope you would want to....you're one of them. I'm not talking about Packer fans as a whole, I'm talking about you.

"Minnesota doesn’t deserve a team, no other NFL team has had as many blackouts & that’s with the lowest ticket prices in the league as well."

I would argue with you, but it's obvious that facts are not welcome in a discussion with you. After all, you seem to discount the 20 teams that have a lower average ticket price than the Vikings....

"And the fans are very low class as well."

Some Muslims consider Americans barbaric for eating the flesh of pigs. Meanwhile, it is socially acceptable to stone to death a rape victim. With that in mind, maybe you will be able to connect the dots when I say:

Maybe I am confused. Fans are mad that the state blocked a tax hike that people don’t get to vote on?

So basically what that says to me, is that non vikings fans want a say in whether or not there is a tax hike. I am going to assume the public at large will say no, which is why they want to push through a non vote ref.

Democracy is good unless your sports team might move away?
-----------------------------------

No, it's a problem of hypocrisy. How often is a tax increase or a spending decision given a public vote? Did they ask the public if they approved fixing the Guthrie? Did they ask if the public thought it was a good time to spend a couple hundred million to spruce up the capital building? Does the voting public get to decide whether companies get tax breaks to operate in the state?

How about a vote on this one.... Dayton proposed changing the state income tax requirements to include prorated portions for those who live in the state for a minimum of 60 days per year, as opposed to 6 months as it stands now. This measure was expected to raise an additional $15 million per year. It was voted down by the legislature. How about putting that up for the residents of Minnesota to vote on? I know what to do with that $15 million/year.......

———————————–

No, it’s a problem of hypocrisy.

I am from eastern South Dakota. This part of the country bleeds purple. Do minnesota lawmakers realize that if they dont pass a deal and the Vikings move, the revenue that the Vikings BRING IN to the state will be gone? Nevermind the Twins and the Wild (of which I am a fan as well), but football is where the money is at. Look at what Target field turned into? Its beautiful! I would have to think that investing now in a new stadium would only bring in further revenue in the future.

Comparing what a MN team can afford with a New York team is apples and oranges. A good example would be the difference between seat and luxury site prices are at Yankee Stadium vs Target Field. Compare PSLs, Seat Prices and Suite prices (not to mention parking) between the New York stadium and the Metrodome. There is no comparison.

Minnesota has had ten years to figure this out. If I'm the Vikings management, I'm already taking bids from moving companies.

BTW: I'm a lifelong Vikings fan who has come to believe Minnesota doesn't deserve and NFL franchise.

So the State (MN) wants to play chicken?! I propose the Vikes deal NOW, with whom ever the powers that be, to play 3 home games in L.A. in 2012, 3 games in Toronto, and 2 in London. Take "Minnesota" out of the team name and replace it with "NFL". Make the 'NFL Vikings' a traveling team in 2012, then see how serious MN is. If they still want to play chicken, by all means leave this undeserving State.

Minnesota doesn't deserve the Vikings at this point. 10 years of "trying"?! And still nothing?! The Vikings deserve better after putting up with it this long.

Which stadium are they moving in to exactly? San Antonio where Zygi does not own property surrounding the stadium? Don't think so.

I was born and raised in L.A. and have been a Viking fan for over 30+ (torturous) years. I lived there when they had the Rams and when they had both, the Rams and Raiders. If the Vikings go to L.A. they'll suffer the same fate that the previous two franchises did, can you say NO SUPPORT?! I was pissed seeing the Rams leave especially when the Vikings had become legitimate rivals during their playoff battles. As far as the Raiders leaving, that didn't matter to me, lol. I don't care who you put there, I just don't see another football team surviving in that huge market especially with the way the economy is...and their talking about putting 2 teams there.
Spot on, Snarkzilla. The Packers and Vikings don't like one another. Their fans generally don't like one another. The games are aggressive, hard-fought and usually pretty close. The series is almost evenly split between the two teams.

That's what the NFL should be about. Not whether or not a player was hanging out with a porn star or whether or not he's happy with his pay or what he said on Twitter.

If the Vikings leave MN, the league loses the Packers-Vikings rivalry: highly-anticipated match-ups between two franchises with a great deal of history and no love lost. That would be a shame.

But Packers fans who are finding some kind of joy in Vikes fans misery and fear about losing their team should try putting themselves in Vikes fans shoes if only for this one issue. Some of the posts here are embarrassing and that’s putting some shine on it.

Despite Dollar Roger's dreams of shiny world corporate conquest and big media market wet dreams, football is a blue collar sport even if most blue collar folks can't afford to go to games. Put 'em in Fargo. It'll keep the NFC North intact, it'll keep what's left of authentic pro football alive, we'll get snow games, and the fans will be loyal to a fault.

But I'd much rather the Vikes stay in Minnesota, preferably in an outdoor stadium in Arden Hills where fans can tailgate and snomo, where I can be happy to hate the Vikes till I die.

Put ‘em in Fargo. It’ll keep the NFC North intact, it’ll keep what’s left of authentic pro football alive, we’ll get snow games, and the fans will be loyal to a fault.

But I’d much rather the Vikes stay in Minnesota, preferably in an outdoor stadium in Arden Hills where fans can tailgate and snomo, where I can be happy to hate the Vikes till I die.

I have some more paint chips for you to eat in my garage.

Since 97 we haven't had ONE "emergency" corporate ticket buyout to avoid a blackout.

The reason there are more Pack fans in MN than Vikes fans in Wisc, is because there is no way a Minnesotan would ever move to wisc. But the Pack fans are doing all they can to get out of Cheese country.

why are the politicians telling us what we can and can't have, I would like to see the Wylf's build a stadium in MN on their own dime and when the politicians show up to see the game tell them to get the hell out. Do these great elected leaders not know what types of future revenue a new stadium would bring to the state. Think of the jobs it would create in building the stadium and all the state sales tax that would be generated after it is built, the politicians are looking at the $350 million that they have to spend now, not the millions that they will make years to come. Let history teach us that there will be football in MN, just like hockey and basketball. I could only imagine how much it would cost to build a new stadium in 10 years and try to start expansion franchise, we already have the franchise, just build the damn stadium.
