Just saying, dont comment on something you know nothing about. None of the athletes you said were ever on the cover.

Really,???!!

2001, Eddie George: Career season, but fumbled in playoffs as top-seeded Titans lost first game to Ravens.

Oh I see, That counts too huh? My point is you can insert any mishap you want and state the curse lives on but the fact is every player in the NFL has a least one type of mishap every season... that's why the so called curse is BS.

I think 4 out of the 5 you mentioned weren’t on the cover of madden.

I think that being on the cover would be a prerequisite for having the madden curse.

Either way Hillis was way over-rated and voted to the cover by his fans. Not exactaly his fault. But him being a total jerk by not showing up to the Boys and Girls Club Halloween thing. Thats all on him.
-------------------------------------------------
Did you even read my comment? I said I'm taking the top 5 statical running backs as of week 9 and hypothetically insert them on the cover of Madden to prove a point the curse is bogus. I never said any of those 5 players were on the cover. Wow- my comment really went WAYYYY over your head.

It doesn't matter if Hillis is back, 100%, and raring to go- because that doofus Pat Shurmur has no clue how to use him anyway. Either that, or Hillis will get 15 touches while Shurmur gazes on in a delusional man-crush state, watching Colt McCoy throw 50 passes (for an avg gain of 5 yards).

Hillis is pretty much doomed with this team. Doesn't matter if he's healthy. Mike Holmgren screwed the long-suffering people of Cleveland with his choice of Pat Shurmur and now the fans are paying AGAIN. This guy isn't even qualified to be an OC let alone a HC, and now he's both- and it shows. One of the reasons Hillis had a great year last year was because of the way that Mangini and Daboll used him. Unfortunately, Shurmur thinks handing him the ball under 20 times and sending him up the middle 98% of the time is gonna get results. Yep, Shurmur is *that* dumb. Wow. Thanks, Mike Holmgren. Thanks for taking things seriously.

Apparently you are an idiot that doesn't know what the hell the Madden Curse is.

The madden curse started in 2000. The athlete that graced the cover had a piss poor year or an injury here is a run down, so maybe you can learn something.

2011: I give you HILLIS

2010, Troy Polamalu/Larry Fitzgerald: Polamalu only played five games due to knee injuries, Steelers missed playoffs;

2009, Brett Favre: Feuded with Packers, traded to Jets, horrible down the stretch (lost 4 of last 5). Also tore his bicep

2008, Vince Young: Missed 1 game with quad injury; led Titans to first playoff appearance in four years. Look where his career is now

2007, Shaun Alexander: Fractured foot, missed six games; fewer yards and TDs in '06 AND '07 than in '04 OR '05.

2006, Donovan McNabb: Sports hernia in first game, missed seven games; feuded with Terrell Owens all year; had been to five straight Pro Bowls, hasn't been since.

2005, Ray Lewis: Broke wrist, missed one game; first season without interception; missed 10 games next year with thigh injury.

2004, Michael Vick: Fractured fibula one day after video game was released, missed 11 games.

2003, Marshall Faulk: Ankle injury, missed two games, never rushed for 1,000 yards again.

2002, Daunte Culpepper: 4-7 record before season-ending knee injury.

2001, Eddie George: Career season, but fumbled in playoffs as top-seeded Titans lost first game to Ravens.

2000, Barry Sanders: Retired one week before training camp.

I’m so sick of “Madden Curse” comments for every Peyton Hillis story. I can prove the Madden Curse is bogus right now. It’s simple. Lets hypothetically take the top 5 running backs in 2011 as of week 9 and insert the term “maden curse:
1.) Adrian Peterson –> Lockout contract dispute. Almost held out: Madden Curse
2.) Lesean McCoy –> Injured week 3: Madden Curse
3.) Maurice Jones Drew –>Injured week 2: Madden Curse
4.) Fred Jackson –> Injured week 4: Maden Curse.
5.) Frank Gore –> Limped off the field in week 1. Questionable for week 2. Madden curse.

It’s not tht hard to call everything a madden curse so shut up about it already. It’s not a madden curse. He just sucks.

Shadylamp I was with you all the way till you went with the "he just sucks". As a Browns fan I'm totally cool with someone saying that "they just suck" cause they do, but Hillis is a damn good RB. And where the hell was Chris Johnson on your little "curse" list by the way? I see T.j as being very similar to Derek Anderson. He has one good year and everyone gets a big hard on, and then never performs the same way again. I called it back then about D.A and I called it about C.J neither time did anybody listen. But thats to be expected. I'd put Hillis in my top 5 running backs if he were on a team that could stretch the field, not with the Browns though, he won't succeed in that short game offense

Halloween with Hillis! Thats funny. The Browns are a disaster, even if they had a deep threat they have a QB that couldn't get it to him. My defensive scheme? Crowd the box and kill Hillis when he gets it, pretty simple

Note to Peyton Hillis:

The Boys and Girls Club is one of the best organizations there is. They really do a lot for a lot of kids.

Do something extremely nice and decent that goes overboard in making it up to them.
