Punt block for td against Jets, int for TD against Jets, and back to back ints for TDs against Detroit……now please explain to me how those are on the defense and it’s coordinator. What is Ryan’s signature game where he shut down a good offense? As a Raiders fan, I think he may be one of the most overrated of all time along with Mike (I haven’t won jack without John) Shanahan. I realize when he was with us, Al was probably meddling a lot, but I just dont see it from this guy.

The “classy” Oilers’ left town when their greedy owner couldn’t squeeze anymore $$$ from the taxpayers. Just a few years before, taxpayers footed the bill for renovations the Astrodome needed. That wasn’t enough for the “classy” Bud Adams, so he demanded a new stadium. When the answer was “No,” he packed up his team and left. Oh, and don’t forget the class displayed by Adams when he gave the double bird @ the Bills game a few years back. Classy Oilers, indeed.

I’m not saying the Texans are so awesome we’re super bowl bound. I’m not dancing in the streets, celebrating the fact we MIGHT win the division by default. All I’m sayin’ is that Wade Phillips has been a friggin’ miracle worker here in Houston. Our defense was the laughingstock of the NFL last season. All he’s done is: switch our D from a 4-3 to a 3-4 with no OTA’s and a shortened training camp; sucessfully moved players from 1 position to another (Mario Williams was starting to shine as an LB before the injury). We’ve had several players at various positions go out with season-ending injuries, yet the “next man up” has been performing well. So, yeah…I think it’s funny that our defense is kicking a## with a coordinator who conducts himself as a professional should, while Dallas’ defense gets humiliated by the Eagles and their coordinator’s acts like a clown.
It obviously runs in the family. The dynamic Ryan Brothers have no one to blame but themselves (and maybe genetics) for the fact they are the punchline of a very bad joke. Their act is better suited for Saturday Night Live or the WWE.

Thanks to their old man, the Ryan boys never met a mic they didn’t like. Unfortunately, their big yaps and their inability to keep them shut, places added pressure on their teams which need not be the case. Winning in the NFL is difficult enough without creating useless bulletin board material. Seems to me both their teams are mediocre at best – why not shut ‘em and just play the game??? Rob Ryan has never coached a number one defensive unit and he says he is the best at what he does (I love how his supporters play semantics by saying he didn’t say he was the best DC, he said he was the best at what he does. Well, is he not a DC? Is that not what he does?). Meanwhile, there are three extremely talented coordinators up in Cincy, Balt and Pitt. Ever hear from any of them? When was the last time LeBeau talked trash?

What did Tomlin say this week about his defense (number 2 in the NFL) and Baltimore’s defense (number 1 in the NFL)? He said – and I paraphrase – “I am not prepared to put us in the same conversation. We are not even close to what they are doing”.

See the difference Ryans? There are guys who talk about what they do but cant live up to it (the Ryan family), there are guys who talk about what they do but can live up to it and then there are guys who let the work they do speak for itself (LeBeau, Zimmer, Pagano, Haslett, et al)

Best D-coordinator in the NFL – um Dick Lebeau, anyone with a brain disagree?

Best D-coordinator in the NFC – Gregg Williams (but this isnt a lock)
Best D-coordinator in the NFC East – Perry Fewell, hell i might take Jim Haslett here ahead of Rob
Best D-coordinator in Texas – sorry Rob, you lose again its Wade Phillips
Best D-coordinator of the Ryan family – nope, Rob comes in 3rd as Buddy and Rex were better in these positions.

Best fat Gandalf lookalike? – Ding ding ding! We have a winner…finally, something Rob Ryan is the best at! Bravo – just because your defense helped the Browns upset the Pats last year, does not make you the best defensive coordinator…its over, move on.

The only D stats that really count are points allowed per game and turnovers. For instance, everybody keeps repeating that the Pats are last in D and the Packers are among the worst. But the Pats are 15th in points allowed and the Packers are 9th.

Dallas and Seattle are tied for 18th in points allowed. In total turnovers, Dallas has 12 and Seattle has 10.

Sorry, Rob. 18th isn’t best and you’re a blowhard.

Just like to thank all the Dallas haters for the massive amount of responses again. We’re talking about a defensive coordinator right? This many posts, “brilliant” slams, and comments about a defensive coordinator who wouldn’t have gotten any feedback had he still been in Cleveland? Thanks for keeping Dallas Americas Team. Oh yeah, so Dallas is only 9th in total defense…….where were they before Rob? Close to last and he’s had one bad game as coordinator of the Cowboys with the same players from a year ago. Sorry, I actually posted some football facts and not stupid drivel….my bad.

Everything Rob Ryan touches turns to crap. He has the anti-midas touch. He has to claims to fame. 1) Buddy Ryans son. 2) LB coach for the Belicheck Patriots…after that each defense he has “coordinated” took step backwards. He’s horrible.

A good Defensive Coordinator can take a bunch of no-namers and make them superstars with just his ability to call the right plays at the right time. Rob Ryan doesn’t have that gift, at least not right now. Confidence is great, but being over confident is damaging.

Well, at least Seattle will have PFT Planet on its side for the game tomorrow.

With Jerrah proclaming everything is fine and that the team will bounce back without a doubt this week, and Ryan talking in his usual grandstanding (isn’t Garrett the coach?) self, a out of the blue Seahawks win will provide countless hours of PFT joy as those two try and backpeddle once again.

Just damn glad he is in Dallas.
