Anyone who wants to believe that Eli (never has been, never will be Elite) Manning won the game for them doesn’t know anything about football. The Patriots defense GAVE them the game. Nothing more, nothing less.
----------------------------------------------------------
Your right the Pats defense gave him the game twice in the 4th qtr, and I am sure the other 4 teams he has done it too this year feels the same way!
Eli has will always be elite in my book.

Naah. Couglin has done well but it’s still harbaugh.
Quality of opposition for giants has been poor (pats notwithstanding).
——————————————————
You need to look at the Giant’s IR list and active roster each week.. San Fran’s schedule doesn’t look that challenging either. (Detroit notwithstanding)

According to everyone the Giants season was over at the beginning of the year.
----------------------------
@wferg1121, you should be proud of how Giants played and won today but don't be dense.

The quality of opponents for the niners have been much stronger.
Giants opponents W-L: 21-34
Niners opponents W-L: 31-32

Just because they beat the pats let's not forget the squeek by win against the Dolcraps or the loss against the 2 win seattle team or the loss against the horrible skins. The only loss niners have has been in OT to the Crapboys.

Couglin is doing a good job even with the injuries but what Harbaugh has done with this turn around is amazing.

I love it…. Yes I know the Skins suck, doesn’t change the fact the Giants are the luckiest team in the league and have been for years. Change that ONE play in any of those 4 games and Giants lose them all.

Your luck will run out and the usual December collapse will follow, as will the annual calls for rat face Coughlin’s job.

I’m not angry, it delights me when Giants fans think theyre better than they are because its all the more wonderful when they fall flat on their face later.

Everybody loves Eli – hes a decent QB but he could play the Colts next week and throw 4 awful picks. And theyd all be horrible throws off his back foot into double coverage.

Giants are frontrunners – write them off and they play well, then they play like crap against bad teams. Up and down to competition but so far this year theyve got the bounces. It wont last.

----------------------------------------
Please refrain from speaking.....this discussion is for teams with winning records. Not for basement dwelling, laughing stocks of the division. Cant wait to play you bums again.

That +14 doesn't mean anything, if they keep winning. So keep hating because the Giants will keep winning. Every now again he comes up with a magic drive, every now and then he comes up with a bone-head play that costs the Giants a game...
----------------------------------------------------------
5 4th qtr come from behind wins this year, and could easily be 6 if Cruz does not slip at the 2 yard line against Seattle... That does not sound like every now and then when you only have 6 wins... Also the boneheaded play against the Eagles??? You mean the infamouse dive?? We were already losing that game, except he was working on another 4 qtr come from behind win.
Last year alot of drops, and by week 6 we were signing WR's off the street.. It was amazing we were 10-6... Eli was always elite in my book, and now he has "stats" to back it up!

Quality of opposition for giants has been poor (pats notwithstanding).

You need to look at the Giant's IR list and active roster each week.. San Fran's schedule doesn't look that challenging either. (Detroit notwithstanding)

According to everyone the Giants season was over at the beginning of the year.

I'm tired of the elite/non-elite debate. As Troy pointed out during the game, What was Eli supposed to say? That he was average? He thinks he's one of the best QB's in the game, what's the issue? It's such a non-story.

Eli Manning is what he is. Every now again he comes up with a magic drive, every now and then he comes up with a bone-head play that costs the Giants a game. The rest of the time he's a very good quarterback. Good enough to win, dangerous enough to lose.

Regardless, today was a HUGE win for the Giants and Eli was a very big part of it.

New England didn't deserve to win this game.

They played poorly for 3 quarters, and tried to steal it at the end (which is more I can say for their game against Pittsburgh). Brady looked completely off.

Their defense played their best game of the season. Its ironic that their offense was the real issue for the most part, turning the ball over and giving the Giants short fields to work with.

But something I am sure Belichick knows is that as brilliant is he is in creating schemes (this looked like a different defensive team than last week), he really lacks the defensive personnel of a great team. He is partially to blame for that since their drafting of defensive players has been terribly inconsistent. Does he get the most out of his players? Sure. But you can't except to win Superbowls when special team players (Sergio Brown) are playing in the most crucial moments of a football game. That pass interference was horrendous.

I think its good that so many teams are playing man coverage on this offense. There is always a way to figure out how to beat a coverage scheme, and if they (New England) don't figure it out next week, they will be letting the division slip away.

I see the Jets as a do or die game for their season. We will see how it turns out. I have faith that Belichick and Brady will right this ship.

One more argument for those who think Eli isn't elite. He is 3rd in QB rating this year and these were his receivers today: Victor Cruz (undrafted FA and played in no games last year), Jake Ballard (undrafted FA and only played in 1 game last year), Mario Manningham (3rd pick), Ramses Barden (3rd rd pick), Bear Pascoe (6th rd pick).
No Welker, Branch or Ochocinco for Eli.

Anyone who thinks Manning played well either wasn't watching or knows nothing about football. I understand the QB gets all the credit when he wins, but the last two drives were aided by 55 yards on two pass int calls - and both calls were on bad throws that were bad decisions by Manning. He just throws the ball up and somehow, it seemed to work out in this game. The big pass to Ballard on the last drive was horrible defense and a play that a good defense either picks off or puts a huge hit on the defender - the pats did neither.

That loss was on the Patriots defense on those last two drives (and those last two drives prove that if you play NE, any play you don't pass is a waste). The Patriots offense is no good either - it is all Welker and Gronkowski. Can't consistently move the ball when you have no one on the team that can make a play down the field. Branch has disappeared, Hernandez seems to disappear at times too. Ochocinco has given them nothing (i place a good share of that blame on Brady - you have to find ways to get players involved). NE does not have one player you fear can make a huge play, either on special teams or on the offense. It is all on brady to make every throw and we have seen the last few weeks, that when he is off, the offense can't do anything.
