It’s fitting, we suppose, that the Chargers would struggle to sell tickets when doing well, and would then do well selling tickets when struggling.
That’s precisely what has happened in advance of the upcoming 2011 debut of Thursday Night Football. With two home games only four days apart, the Chargers chased a sellout of Sunday’s loss to the Packers with a sellout of the upcoming game against the Raiders.
Against the Packers, the Chargers drew the third largest crowd in Qualcomm Stadium history. But the crowd of 68,908 contained more than a few Packers fans. In fact, there were so many Cheeseheads in attendance that the Chargers at times had to use a silent count while on offense.
