I hope 13-3 is good enough for home field. I think they will split between the Vikings/Bears, lose at New York, and split with Detroit. Without pressure up the middle from Jenkins, it doesn’t matter who is chasing the QB…you’re not going to catch a good one. I don’t think the Packers are the best team in the league. I don’t even think they have the best offense. They just have the best QB and the best receivers. The defense needs a lot of work. I just hope to hell they get their act together pretty damn soon or it is going to be a short post season.

Raji & Clay are getting double teamed, walden & pickett can’t crush a pocket if they were juiced and in some way related to Reggie White & Howie Long….

WE NEED MIKE NEAL in order to successfully run our 2-4-5…
We need that pressure up the middle, We need Mike Neal to fill in that Cullen Jenkins Bull Rush up the middle role, We need 2 Big DLinemen pushing back the center and guards. That allows our OLBs to get in 1 on 1 situations.

Right now, we should swap back to our 2009 Smoke & Mirror Defense (until neal is back) .
We get our takeaways/sacks when we blitz like crazy, our 4 man rush ain’t getting it done right now.

Every time i see Walden and Wynn starting I wanna puke in my mouth. They aren’t rotating players in the front 7. Wynn is getting way too many snaps, and howard green is an afterthought. The best news I heard from the chargers game was that Zombo pulled a hammy. Now maybe we can get So’oto on the field, get him some snaps and generate some sort of a pass rush. The Walden/Wynn combo needs to be filed in same place slocum put those special teams playbooks.

Rodgers got chased and hit all game but never lost his cool. On the other hand Rivers looked horribly rattled on the last series after facing relatively little pressure all day. It would help both the Packers’ run and pass defense a great deal if Mike Neal could get onto the field and play the way he can. So far he’s not done a whole lot more than Harrell did. Packers need him to get back and stay healthy. The Packers are definitely skating along the edge and it’s nerve-wracking, but then every other team this year has lost at least once. There are no great, consistent, complete teams this year. Despite playing to the level of their opponents too often, the Pack is the best of the bunch – so far. Who will pull it all together at the end of the year? Who knows?
On a side note, Packers could be 10-0 going into Detroit on Thanksgiving. Didn’t that happen once before? Let’s hope history doesn’t repeat or even rhyme this time.

A bit overstated but the contrast to last year is pretty clear. One reason is that Matthews is being expected to play coverage. He’s better against the run like this but is headhunting less.

I’m sick of hearing that the Packers have a soft schedule. They’ve won 14 in a row going back to last season:
Quality Teams: @Atl*2, @Chi*2, @Phil, @SD, Saints, Chi, NYG, and Pitts in the SB.
Non-Qulity Teams: @Panthers, @Vikes, Denver and St. Louis.

While the coverage mix-ups and generally beating their taking in man coverage seems like the problem, let’s not miss one thing.

They simply can’t get to the quarterback. Period. It’s pathetic. I’m not looking it up, but they have to be dead last in sacks this year. Pickett/Raji/Wilson/Wynn get ZERO push, Matthews gets doubled, and Walden and Zombo aren’t winning their matchups. Those Woodson/Shields blitzes from the slot aren’t getting home either.

At first, I thought Williams was just playing bad and Peprah was no Collins, but how long are you going to stay locked on a guy when Rivers has time to bake blueberry muffins before he gets rid of it.

Until the Pack actually trails a game in the 4th quarter I’ll be worried. Talk all you want about the shaky D and the weak schedule. The bottom line is the Chargers were down 21 at home in the 4th quarter. During the Packers 14 game winning streak they haven’t trailed in the 4th quarter once.

Uh, no. The offense is playing almost perfect which is allowing a whole lot of wiggle room for the Pack. The defense has had a substandard year, they are 31st in pass defense.

Seems like a double edge sword. The defense made some mistakes bu how many other teams got 2 pick 6′s yesterday, they definitely are lucky that it seems as though the offense can score at will.

Packers will be fine. Their defense will get it together later in the year along with their running game. Right now Rodgers is on a tear for the record books as having the best statistical passer in NFL history for one season, they would be wise to ride it out with his historical year.

The Pack has made average quarterbacks look good this year so the game yesterday with a qb like Rivers didn’t surprise me. Green Bay’s defense was the same way last year and didn’t put things together consistently until December.

according to a lot of Viking fans hgh=high performance and when the numbers go down it certainly can’t be the double teaming or lack of pass rush from the other side no matter how high he is in the league in hurry’s and knockdowns.

well if you guys wana keep a team in your worthless state I recommend you send your whole team north of the border for some treatment from dr galea because your 2-6 record is pathetic your last in the division and will be drafting in the top 10 for the next 15 years

How are posts like this allowed to be posted? Either way, it is hilarious how many uneducated fans resort to name calling on this site. It’s even more hilarious when the names used in the name calling are spelled incorrectly.

Along that same vain, I don’t know how Jared Allen may sack Rodgers a few times next Monday, but I doubt Jarred Allen will sakc Rogers, since Jarred and Rogers aren’t even real people. And even if they were, I’m not sure how you sakc someone.

For those HGH honks, please understand sacks aren’t everything. Clay may not have the sack #’s but he is among the league leaders when you combine sacks, pressures, and knockdowns. He is also much more improved as a run defender. Sacks may be the glory stat but he’s still playing at a very high level, he can’t do it himself. Someone else has to step up as a pass rusher.

Losing Nick Collins was huge. Yes Peprah had two INT’s but he also was directly responsible for at least 2 Charger’s TD’s. Actually admitted one right after game. The DB’s communication isn’t close to what it was last season and the number of Splash plays against them is proving that.

The defense made the plays it had to, but without those pick 6s, the Chargers very well could have won.

Green Bay has a long way to go defensively. If Rodgers goes down, they are beyond mortal.

The Chargers DID keep Rodgers off the field. 3 Packers possessions in the first half and only 26 passing attempts by Rodgers. Didn’t work.

When the Packers got up 21 they went to a prevent D but the deep guys weren’t reacting to WR movement, often times letting VJax get behind the safeties and letting Gates flood behind the LBs… I guess the plan was to force the Chargers to run clock, but they scored so fast it didn’t work.
The Jordy Nelson failure on the onsides didn’t help either.
The Packers D made plays when they had to but yesterday was closer than it should have been.
All you Vikings wankers are gonna be taught a lesson next MNF and Niners? Bring your best shot to Titletown if you make it and you will learn another lesson.

For all the talk of the greatness of the Packers’ defense in the 2010, they were 5-3 at this point in the season. They were better in pretty much every single defensive statistic except INTs (they’re on pace for 32 this year), but that couldn’t keep them from blowing 4th quarter leads against the Bears (10-7), Skins (13-3), and dropping one to the Fins in the first half of the season.

It’s frustrating to watch them give up so many big plays that seem almost uncontested, but as long as they keep winning, I really don’t care.

Can the Packers be beat? Yes, of course. The formula for beating the Packers is pretty simple. Don’t waste any scoring opportunities, and try to keep Rodgers off the field. I guess it’s more easily said than done — just ask the Saints, Panthers, Bears, Broncos, Falcons, Rams, Vikings, and Chargers.

Its pretty clear their offense is the best. So many weapons. But if things go even a little wrong, their defense could get them screwed. If rodgers gets forced into just one mistake during the thanksgiving game, the track meet that day could go detroits way.
