Steelers wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders will not return to the lineup for Pittsburgh’s game against the Bengals this week because he underwent knee surgery, coach Mike Tomlin announced on Tuesday via the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

Sanders, who was starting to emerge as a third receiver, will be out a couple of weeks.

Tomlin does expect to have Hines Ward available against Cincinnati despite suffering concussion-like symptoms.

“Concussion-like symptoms” has sadly become code for “It’s a concussion but we want him to play.”
