Chargers beef up offensive line with Tony Moll

Moll_Tony

With Chargers left guard Kris Dielman still missing after a concussion and with Chargers left tackle Marcus McNeill sustaining a neck injury on Thursday night against Oakland, the Chargers need some help on the offensive line.

They’ve added veteran Tony Moll to the mix.  The team announced the move on Tuesday.

Moll, all six-foot-five and 315 pounds of him, appeared in 16 games, starting 10, as a rookie with the Packers in 2006.  He joined the Ravens in 2009, appearing in 21 games with three starts in two seasons.

After a training-camp stint with the Jaguars, Moll has been looking for his next opportunity.

Moll has played right guard, right tackle, and tight end.  Without McNeill, left tackle Brandyn Dombrowski gave up four sacks to Raiders linebacker Kamerion Wimbley.

If you’re picking up a lineman this late in the season, you aren’t beefing up your offensive line. You’re just desperate.

Now if they could “beef up” their coaching staff with a head coach who isn’t incompetent maybe they’d have something.

We had “The Fridge”, and we have “The Building”, but they are both small potatoes compared to “The Moll”.

Just too many injuries all across the board throughout the season. OFFENSE: Gates, McNeill, Floyd, Tolbert, Mathews, Dielman, Vasquez. DEFENSE: Sanders, Philips, Castillo, Mouton, Cesaire, English, Cooper, Spikes

If this young man is going to make a huge differance why was he not on an NFL team already?

Thanks for all the good football info/updates, and nothing against Tony – but the Beef we need on the O line is PRIME – not ground chuck. :)

FIRE THE LORD OF NO RINGS, AND BRING IN A REAL HEAD COACH.

Tony’s a good kid, but this isn’t going to change a thing for the Chargers. And when did Tony play TE????
