On top of having to play on a short week after a Sunday night game that involved running back LaDainian Tomlinson suffering a knee injury in garbage time (he’s reportedly out for Thursday), the Jets now have an injury concern involving one of their top players on defense.
Cornerback Darrelle Revis participated in practice on a limited basis Tuesday, due to a knee injury of his own.
He didn’t appear on Monday’s injury report, which was an estimation based on the fact that the Jets conducted only a walk-through practice.
Absent on Tuesday were receiver Jeremy Kerley (knee), tight end Shawn Nelson (illness), Tomlinson, and receiver Patrick Turner (kidney). Defensive back Brodney Pool (knee) already has been scratched.
Twelve players fully participated despite injuries, including receivers Plaxico Burress (low back), receiver Santonio Holmes (foot), and center Nick Mangold (ankle).
The “ground-and-pound” Jets face the Broncos’ “T-Bone” offense on Thursday night. Which means that I’ll be deviating from my “decaf only after 4:00 p.m.” rule.
