The Packers pass protection has survived without left tackle Chad Clifton.
We wouldn’t say that Marshall Newhouse has thrived on the blind side, but Green Bay’s pass protection hasn’t been the constant problem that some expected. There have been down games, of course, but it’s not like Newhouse has slowed down Aaron Rodgers’ MVP season.
Green Bay will still be thrilled to get Clifton back from his hamstring injury. For the first time Tuesday, coach Mike McCarthy set out a timeline for that to happen.
“I would have to say he’s not going to make it this week, Detroit would be a push and the Giants would probably be realistic if he stays on schedule,” McCarthy said via Jason Wilde of ESPNMilwaukee.com.
