Bears receiver Earl Bennett was fined $5,000 for wearing orange cleats two weeks ago.

He was warned that he would be fined $10,000 if he did it again. So he did it again.

Adam Schefter confirmed the fine was levied. Bennett says he already knows what happens next. The league told him he’ll get fined $15,000 if he wears them against the Chargers and $20,000 the following week.

“After that I’ve heard that they are going to call [a] delay of game and maybe kick me out of the game,” Bennett told ESPN 1000 via NFL.com.

We’re guessing Bennett won’t take it that far. But his teammates have his back.

“I asked [teammates] ‘Should I wear the orange shoes again?’ One of them was like ‘Most definitely, I’ll take care of it.’ So that’s how it went down,” Bennett said.

In related news, a group of Bears fans are trying to pool together money to see how much it would cost Roy Williams to not suit up on Sundays at all.
