Julio Jones misses practice again

Julio Jones AP

A week after returning from a hamstring injury with a breakout game against the Colts, Falcons receiver Julio Jones aggravated the injury against the Saints.

He hasn’t practiced on Wednesday or Thursday of this week, decreasing the likelihood that he’ll be available for Sunday’s game against the Titans.

The sixth pick in the 2011 draft, the Falcons gave up a mini-Herschel Walker package to move from the low 20s into the top 10.  When healthy, Jones has played well.  But he hasn’t been healthy for a while.

At 5-4, the Falcons and Titans have the same record.  Though it’s easy to assume the Falcons will avoid falling to .500, the Titans suddenly can see a path to first place in the AFC South, given that Matt Leinart is the new quarterback of the 7-3 Texans.

If the Titans can win, they’ll be only one game behind the Texans, with six games to play.

Seems like the two teams that plucked guys off their couches are getting more production than the Falcons are out of their huge investment.

Browns fans have to take feel good stories where they can get them.

Sad to see such a talented guy get hurt his rookie year; but it happened with Megatron, too, his first few years. These big WRs take a while to learn how to protect themselves at the NFL level over a 16 game season.

He’ll be fine over the long term, even if it’s a bit rough right now. The important thing is that he’s shown some amazing talent at times.

Funny. All this talk about giving too much for Carson Palmer. Yet nobody talking about what the falcons gave up for Julio.

I am sick of people trash talking bout julio like he is a bust… have you seen him play? i have seen him 4 times this year and the kid can flat out make plays…

his upside is better than AJ green… he has had bad luck with injuries but he has done enough already IMO to make me a believer…

Sit him a couple more games and he’ll be fine! This kid is a future Beast.
