I gotta wonder, are safeties going to start asking for extra money in their contracts so they can afford this crap. One fine like that per week would nearly wipe out an entire minimum salary. Chancellor was a fifth-round pick, so he’s not exactly making big bucks…I’m sure his next contract will make up for that. Dude can flat-out play.

We have seen what the league does not want but I would love to see someone diagram how this play should have been made. We are going to see defensive players get hurt as they try to not lead with their heads. If Chancellor had ducked his head below the receiver’s helmet he could have easily been seriously hurt.

This rule says what you can’t do. No wonder coaches don’t know what to teach.

#2 I watched this game and after it happened the broadcaster said he wasn’t allowed to hit him because he was making an attempt to make a catch. Isn’t that called DEFENSE!!! I agree with the fine, but this is what the NFL has come to. Rediculous.

Both players were running full speed. The tackle was NOT a launch. There was no spearing. Tell me, how is one player that is approximately the same height as another supposed to tackle him without any contact between their helmets? A guy going all out to break up a pass with the game on the line. Man, what a horrible player… Definitely not a team player, that’s for sure. I guess he should have let Boldin catch the ball, get two feet down, and then lay a pillow down for Boldin to land on before finally tackling him.

That’s basically what the NFL wants these days. They want bang-bang hits, clean or not, taken out of the game so the passing stats will go up even further.
