X-rays negative on Shonn Greene’s ribs

The Jets’ running game was stagnant without Shonn Greene and LaDainian Tomlinson on Thursday night, averaging only three yards-per-carry.

They missed Greene’s presence, but it sounds like he will be back for New York’s next game. X-rays on his injured ribs were negative.

“I felt alright, but Joe [McKnight] and Bilal [Powell] were going good,” said Greene after the game via the New York Daily News.

Good is a big overstatement. McKnight had 59 yards on 16 carries. He lost a fumble on special teams and missed a direct snap headed his way. Bilal had 11 yards on seven carries and fumbled the ball.

The Jets want to “ground and pound” but only three teams have gained fewer yards-per-carry this year.

Worst FF RB ever. I’ll draft Fred Lane before him next year.

The Jets are no longer relevant ….. The only reason for them to finish out the season is to determine their draft location come next April ….. Nothing more …….

While X-rays were negative, his gynecologist noticed sand in his vagina. He might miss the next game due to irritation.

Shonn Greene is more brittle than a 100 year old China doll and far more useless.

Fractures on rib xrays don’t always show up in the beginning.

    Thomas Jones is missed.

    I too was fooled…
Shonn Greene is the biggest VaJayJay in the NFL. He hardly got hit, ran to the sideline, then put on his pom-poms.
Yeah good thing Joe and Bilal were doing so good.

Hard to take this dude seriously when you’ve got Tebow on the other sideline who would play with broken bones. Great move I made starting Greene over McGahee last night too, who played with a legitimate injury. Just, awesome.

Tony Romo is a tough sob, unlike Green.
