Eagles top list of underachievers

Vince Young started the whole “dream team” label. It’s only fair that he’s going to start at quarterback for Philadelphia’s last stand Sunday night.

A seventh loss would end any flickering playoff ambitions for Philly.

It’s no surprise that the Eagles top Florio and Peter King’s list of biggest underachievers this year from NBC SportsTalk.

    Rich underachievers too.

A fitting end to there season. The guy who coined them a dream team will be the one who ends it on a nightmare. R.I.P dream team.

The Eagles top the list…and it’s so bad, don’t even bother to put the list together after them…

That being said, win today…and it ain’t over yet.

    Go Eagles!

Come on now, lets not be to quick in handing out this highly sought after distinction of “top underachiever” to the Egirls. How about the MN vikequeens? They have the 3rd highest payroll in the league and a 2-7 record. It would only be appropriate the the team with the highest player arrest record since 2000 would also have the honor of being the “top underachievers.”

Vince Young didn’t “start” the “dream team” label.

Vince Young said in an interview, in response to a question asking him what it was like coming to a team with a stable organization and a bunch of talented players, that it was like coming to a “dream team”. As in, it felt almost like a dream. Not referencing in any way the “Dream Team” label of the U.S. A. basketball team or anything like that.

It was the sports media who took the quote “dream team” and ran with it, manufacturing a story about the supposed arrogance and overconfidence of the Philadelphia Eagles.

    Thank you very much.

… and vic is biggest POS in the nfl. Funny how both awards go to the eagles.

    DREAM TEAM — lol

  8. obamablowz says: Nov 20, 2011 10:27 AM

“underachievers” sums up Vince Young’s entire NFL career.

  9. stuckinalabama says: Nov 20, 2011 10:36 AM

You need to look no further than the Houston Texans to see how a real defensive coordinator can make or break a team. They have literally gone from worst to first since they have brought in Wade Phillips.

I am SO tired of lazy national media guys using the dream team reference It is such an easy buzz phrase to overuse. one guy (Vince Young) makes one flip remark and you run run run with it. No one else associated with the team ever said it stop punishing thjem for it get off your butt and find something new

  11. dolphins4 says: Nov 20, 2011 10:44 AM

When they hired the offensive line coach to be the defensive coordinator I knew they were in trouble.

  12. deepthreat says: Nov 20, 2011 10:49 AM

How about top list of OVERRATED ???
You are the ones who said they would be good.

  13. lilrob10201 says: Nov 20, 2011 10:59 AM

May I ask what kind of news is this ? I think we all know that the Eagles team are under achievers.Just look at their talent on the team now look at the record of the team.

  14. seatownballers says: Nov 20, 2011 10:59 AM

Vince young is a joke. Does he have the playbook memorized yet? Im not rooting against them, but their defense is underachieving weekly. Fire the defensive coordinator already

  15. melikefootball says: Nov 20, 2011 11:07 AM

I just hope Young shows up, with his past record of running and hiding when the pressure is on. OH how the pressure will be on him today.

Good list but seriously could Packers fans find one topic to not discuss their deep fascination with the Vikings? are they more interested in their own team or the Vikings? and Oh the clever nicknames “egirls” and Vikequeens gotta make you love that Green Bay education system!

I’m pretty sure he referenced the Miami Heat, though.

I disagree that the Jets are under-achievers.

Sure Wrecks Ryan predicts a Super Bowl every season. He also retro-actively predicts Super Bowl victories for any team that chose not to hire him as head coach.

No one pays any attention to that – least of all his players.

He did have a good year last year, but before that he only made it to the playoffs because the Colts didn’t have the balls to try to go 16-0, and pulled their starters and played as well as you’d expect without Peyton Manning.

With that track record most NFL watchers expected Wrecks to be about as successful as his gastric bypass surgery was.

How insightful of yourself. Rather convenient that you haven’t noticed the large glacier of comments large enough to shut down the internet itself coming from Minnesota trolling on the pack and their “clever” plays on the team name. Oh yeah, and the Wisconsin education system was top 5 in the country but thanks to the new gov we’re aiming for the Mississippi tier of education systems…

Any one who knows anything knows Reid is to blame for playing them out of their position or asking them to do what they are not accustomed to doing. Look at Jason Babin last time he was here. New line coach played him at what he does best….rush the passer. Hopefully Reid is finished. Perhaps we can get Cowher etc. someone that will not use three 7th round short draft choices at LB. His decesions are mostly to blame. Not to mention a horrible choice at Def. Coord.

    @ stuckinalabama

While the Texans have enjoyed some success this year, having the best QB in the AFC South miss the season has played a large part in their position in the AFC.

  22. abninf says: Nov 20, 2011 12:27 PM

    Dream Team.

  23. Mr. Wright 212 says: Nov 20, 2011 12:33 PM

Iggles fans wouldn’t be running from the dream team label if their record was reversed. WE ALL KNOW IT.

it is fun watching them backtrack and recant statements faster than LeBron James.

  24. snowpea84 says: Nov 20, 2011 12:58 PM

How are they underachievers? They have Vick at QB. This is exactly what should have been expected if you’ve ever paid any attention to what kind of QB he is.
