Injury roundup: Starks has knee sprain, Dan Williams out for year

Buccaneers Packers Football AP

We get the biggest injury news in the rumor throughout the day. The smaller stuff we missed goes right here:

1. Packers coach Mike McCarthy announced running back James Starks has a knee sprain.  It’s hard to imagine him being ready for Thanksgiving. Greg Jennings has an unclear lower leg injury. It may be a calf injury or a shin problem. Hard to tell if its serious.

2. Cardinals defensive tackle Dan Williams will miss the rest of the season with a broken arm, according to Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic.  The 2010 first round pick has made very little impact in two seasons. Tackle Brandon Keith suffered a concussion.

3. Redskins tackle Trent Williams suffered an injury to his MCL.

4. Falcons cornerback Kelvin Hayden was carted off with a right foot injury in the second quarter against Atlanta.

5. Chargers DE Jacques Cesaire left Sunday’s game in the first half with a knee injury.

6. Jaguars DE Matt Roth and WLB Clint Session both left Sunday’s game with second-half head injuries.

Hope Starks knee is alright. All the haters can say the Packers offense is just Rodgers but he is a big part of what they are doing, and defenses have to play somewhat honest with him in the game. He is a tough, downhill runner and it is a huge dropoff from him to Ryan Grant. Starks is the first RB we’ve had in a while that has the ability to help close out games. Losing him would be a huge blow to our offense.

Starks is a big loss because of his pass catching ability out of the backfield.

Rest him a couple of weeks and get him ready for the playoffs. Grant can carry the load for a few weeks.

San Fran looks good but I gotta thing Frank Gores tank will be near empty heading into the playoffs which is good for the Pack.

Stop San Frans run game and let the QB beat you. Don’t see it happening!

I can t wait to hear the Packer fans blame the Starks and Jennings injury on why they lose to the Lions on Thursday. If the Lions D play solid and do not give up more than 21 points. The lions win!

And if they take the first half off like they did yesterday – they’ll lose by 20.

It’s that time of the season where injuries test a team. My Bills are hurt w/no depth =’s sucking! The best teams will shine, or persevere even w/injuries because of their depth. That’s why they play the game…the cream eventually rises!
