ReutersDevin McCourty (shoulder) made a surprise return to Patriots practice Saturday, but he isn’t expected to suit up Monday night against the Chiefs.
New England’s best cornerback is expected to miss 2-3 weeks with the injury. The quick return to practice is a sign perhaps he’ll beat that estimate.
Linebackers Brandon Spikes (knee) and Dane Fletcher (thumb) have been ruled out for New England. Pats safety James Ihedigbo (shoulder) is questionable for the Patriots.
The Chiefs ruled out quarterback Matt Cassel (hand), which was no surprise. Cornerbacks Brandon Carr (ankle) and Brandon Flowers (back), defensive end Glenn Dorsey (knee), and safety Jon McGraw (shoulder) are all questionable.
All of the questionable Chiefs were able to practice in some form this week, so they are decent bets to play.

Did Belichick remake his secondary halfway through the season?
.
This is the first game this year that I am not worried about our secondary.
I don’t even know who the quarterback for KC is.
Think Bill is more prepared for Cassell calling out Pats plays than Reid was for Kolb?
My guess is, “Yes”.
This year, he isn’t New Englands’ best cornerback.
The defense had their best game last week without him.
Take as much time as you need, Devin.
I would like the best team to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl ( No idea who that actually is between Baltimore, Pittsburgh, New England, Houston and Cincy), but it looks like it will be whoever can keep their guys the healthiest.
sit him. practice theres no contact. game time receivers will be running right in to him with contact plus got to make plays in the run game. should let it rest at least a week
Chung is out Monday, you missed that.
With all the major injuries, I shudder to think how teams would get through an 18-game regular season.
