APTitans quarterback Matt Hasselbeck exited Sunday’s loss to the Falcons with a sprained elbow.
An MRI conducted on Monday showed no structural damage, according to Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean.
Per Wyatt, Hasselbeck’s availability for Sunday against the 4-6 Buccaneers hinges on his arm strength and his ability to grip the football.
The Titans may decide it makes more sense to let rookie Jake Locker grip the football, given that Locker threw two touchdown passes in relief of Hasselbeck, nearly sparking a come-from-behind win in Atlanta.
The Titans remain very much alive for a playoff berth, two games behind the Texans in the AFC South and part of a four-team cluster at 5-5, one game behind the 6-4 Bengals for the No. 6 seed.

What’s the Tebow angle for this story?
with the britt-less wr core along with bad play by the oline and CJ, it doesnt matter who is at QB
Doesn’t matter. He’ll never take another snap for the Titans. It’s Locker’s team now.
“We want the ball, and we are gonna score”. Great play there!!
Too bad they don’t have the balls to bench Chris Johnson. Friggin’ Matt Hasselbeck had a better day rushing than CJ!! It’s unbelievable and should be unacceptable. CJ is hurting the team, bottom line. Let Javon Ringer play instead…he doesn’t seem to have much trouble running behind that O-Line and actually looks like he’s willing to earn his paycheck.
