It's funny how people who haven't played or coached the pro game (Tirico and Patriot haters) have a problem with the late TD, but guys who have coached or played in the NFL (Jaws and Gruden) say they have no problem with it. I've heard Jimmy Johnson, Bill Cowher, and Joe Gibbs say this too.

Why? There is no such thing as running up the score in the NFL. Look who scored that last TD. Shane Vereen. It was Vereen's first extended action of the year. Smart coaches work on things in game conditions regardless of the score. Don't we always hear that you can't simulate game speed? You put the backups in the game (Vereen is 3rd string, maybe 4th string behind Ridley) to see what they can do. You never know when BenJarvus or Woodhead might get hurt. Now we know that Vereen has the game speed (boy, he looked FAST!), and now, he has some confidence. Sorry, but smart coaching.

It was incredible how the Pats could bring home a hard-fought win over a team as capable as the KC Chiefs with a back-up QB! How do the Pats do it?

Next they have the Eagles with a damaged (and bad when healthy) QB, The Colts with NO QB, the Rexskins, the Praying Tebows, and then the Harvard Bills? Wow, it will be amazing year if they can somehow struggle through that tough, tough CFL schedule.

Are the Pats the best team in the AFC?... Not right now... Who is... ???

Are the Pats going to make the Playoffs? Yes... Thanks to a very soft remaining schedule.

Are the Pats going to win a playoff game... Maybe... Injuries are getting to be a problem.

Are they going to win the Super Bowl... No...
Does anyone think Green Bay isn't going to win it all...

In the meantime... 6 games left ... let"s not wish away football season with playoff talk... I plan to enjoy the ride.

This Pats team reminds me of a lot of the offense heavy Indianapolis Colts teams that were driven by Peyton Manning’s talent but couldn’t stop anyone and COULD be stopped in the big spot, with the right scheme. Brady is great, but this team can be stopped. I’ll be surprised if they win more than one playoff game.

That's exactly what they were in 07. It's taken years, but they are recovering from the spread shotgun finesse McDaniels O and have been running the ball with toughness a lot more since he's gone. Once a team loses that toughness, it takes a while for it to come back. MC D's offense is the devil. Last year was a jump but this year they've won some games they never would have if they were still that finesse. We'll see.

To the Colts fan whining bout running up the score: you have no clue and are letting your ignorance and hatred show. Bet you didn't complain that much about the score when your Colts got whipped by the Saints. Nice agenda there, bud.

Not suggesting that it will be a loss for the Pats, but look at BB’s record vs the Broncos. He seems to struggle against them for whatever reason. Once again not saying they will lose, but it sure seems as if that game is getting overlooked a little too quickly.

The Cheats haven’t won anything since they got caught.
No, we have NOT forgotten.

ummmm………….They’ve won more games than anyone else in the NFL since that. Keep making excuses to rationalize your awful team.
_________

Not mention all while rebuilding their entire team aside from a handful of mainstays while remaining competitive. They are like 60-18 since the story ESPN manufactured as spygate....with AFc Championship and a Super Bowl appearance that they lost on a miraculous catch in the final minute. Brady also missed an entire season since then. I'd say they're doing just fine haters. Unless you're a Steeler, Saints, or Packers fan, your team hasn't won anything since 2007 either ;-)

But noooo, Bellichump goes for it on 4th and goal???? From the 4??? What disrespect for the game, the integrity of it, the players, the fans, everyone.
------------------------------------------------------------

You have it completely backwards. Disrespect is taking the almost-guaranteed 3 points from a FG for the sole purpose of increasing your total. Respect is going for it and giving your opponent a chance to stop you and keep the points off the board. It allows your opponent an opportunity to compete in a more meaningful manner than trying to block a chip-shot FG.

I’d rather take a strong defense that does not give up too many yards every game.
---------------------------------------------------------
This is why no one takes you seriously.

The main function of a defense is to keep points off the board.

Would you rather have a defense that gives up 334 yards but holds them to just 3 points, or one that gives up just 229 yards, but allows 17 points?

If you answered "A", you're the New England Patriots and you just beat KC 34-3. If you answered "B", you're the New York Jets and you just lost to Denver 17-13 .....

Get it?

If you answered “A”, you’re the New England Patriots and you just beat KC 34-3. If you answered “B”, you’re the New York Jets and you just lost to Denver 17-13 …..

Get it?

How can people be so dumb? In the last drive they ran a rookie RB 12 times. He was injured and got his first snaps. On 4th down you want them to cick a field goal and score than running and giving a chance to defend it. How pathetic.

Do you even watch NFL every week? How many teams came back down 21 points this year? Do you remember 2006 AFC championship game? Manning was down 18 points and won the game. How many more examples you need?

Taylor price, Shane Vereen, Steven Ridley never got enough reps. Shouldn't they use garbage time to get spme reps for those guys? Haters are gonna hate!

You have to be kidding with the bush league stuff. These are pros. It is the other team's job to stop you from scoring. They were giving Vereen reps and he gashed that D. Might as well give the kid some quality reps.

I know a lot of folks are saying Pittsburgh would shred the Pats, but I don't think that is the case. The Pats played terrible on offense and never adjusted well to the press man. They have made adjustments since. They were not rushing the passer well at the time (they are now) and Pittsburgh still has a crappy O line. Next time Troy Polamalu bats a ball, the officials might actually call that illegal play right, too. Realistically, on a day where the Pats played poorly, they still only lost by 6 (that safety was BS). Big Ben might throw 300 yards, but if they go 2/5 in the red zone, they might not win the next time. Pittsburgh is good, but they might be a 5 seed and have to go to Foxboro even though they won the head to head.

Worst fans in the league are in New England. I have season tickets there and the attitude is "entertain me" They sack Palko, no one stood up.
Complaining about their soft second half schedule is weak. The way the NFL weights schedules means that teams with good records get harder schedules the following year, so the Pats have been succeeding against tough schedules for years. On paper, this was going to be another one; it's not their fault that the Eagles, Colts, etc have underachieved to date. In fact, it's long past due that the Pats get some fairness out of the schedule.

Funny how the Patriots rip apart a really bad team one night, and they're being declared as having righted the ship and back in form. They can win the rest of their regular season games and get a bye in the playoffs, but say someone like Houston has to come in their house. Or worse yet, they have to go on the road to Baltimore or Houston eventually.

I get, and dont mind, the patriots philosophy of putting points up no matter what the situation. If you cant stop us, too bad. But last night made me lose repect for BelliCHUMP.

4th and goal from the 4 yard line, just over a minute to go, up 27-3. 31 other couched in the NFL, who respect the game and the opponent, will concede the defense has indeed stopped them and would kick a FG to make it 30-3 with a minute left, game is over either way.

But noooo, Bellichump goes for it on 4th and goal???? From the 4??? What disrespect for the game, the integrity of it, the players, the fans, everyone.

Tell Todd Haley to stop using Time Outs with 2mins to play down by 20+ and you don't have to bitch about the Pats 5th string RB getting his first ever NFL snaps and "running up the score".

Oakland did this to the Pats too. The scary thing is there's ANOTHER team in the AFC West that could probably win in this situation lol. #Tebow
