Fred Jackson is done for the year

F. Jacksonbuf

Things keep getting worse in Buffalo.

Fred Jackson, the team’s best player, won’t play again this season because of a fractured fibula according to Mark Gaugan of the Buffalo News. Jackson is headed to injured reserve.

It’s a devastating blow to the Bills offense and Jackson personally. He was hoping to get a new contract from Buffalo -- he’s under contract next year for $1.83 million.

That’s a bargain, but the Bills may be hesitant to give more money to a player that will be 31 years old heading into next season coming off a broken leg.

Jackson certainly earned his cash this year. He’s second in the league in yards from scrimmage and third and rushing yards.

C.J. Spiller, Johnny White, and Tashard Choice will handle backfield duties. This is Spiller’s chance to show he can handle a bigger role.
