Packers linebacker Erik Walden arrested

Buccaneers Packers Football AP

Green Bay’s perfect season on the field does not include a flawless record off the field.

Linebacker Erik Walden was arrested for suspicion of assaulting his his live-in girlfriend, according to Charles Davis of the Green Bay Press-Gazette.

Walden, who had eight tackles against the Lions Thursday, will be held in jail until Monday at the earliest.

This means we can reset the “Days Without an Arrest” meter to zero after it reached 23.  The all-time record is 32, and Florio has said he’ll take the meter down if it ever gets to 100.

That can’t happen until March at the earliest now.

Ahh those classy “partners” of the league are just misunderstood again.

True representatives of the league and are such wonderful examples for children. Yes, they deserve to be considered “partners” don’t they?

HEY ERIK – Did you not see what happened to Brandon Underwood? He was even drafted by TT. You weren’t.

You idiot. You just ensured a high ROLB pick next draft and your one way ticket out of town.

  15. charlesanakin says: Nov 25, 2011 3:00 PM

Stay classy GB. I guess he should be banned for the rest of the season and have to complete half a dozen anger management classes. Or maybe stomping on a girl half your size is more okay with Packer fans than stomping on football player. Interested to hear what the league wide fan outcry will be for this “dirty player”.

  19. packerhq says: Nov 25, 2011 3:06 PM

If he did assault her (charged with a felony as it stands) then he should get cut.

No room in the packer family for this kind of player. MM should suspend him pending the outcome.

  20. aberamsey says: Nov 25, 2011 3:09 PM

What an idiot. If Capers and TT hadn’t plucked him off the scrap heap and gave him an opportunity he may have not even been in the league. Unfortunately if TT could find Walden there’s another guy out there he can bring in to replace him. If he gets charged I say cut him. Zombo/Jones/So’to can do just fine in his absence.

Bring on the anti-Packer comments. Situations like this happen league wide. It’s a societal issue.

    One other thing…CaseyAnthonyMunoz… clever name.

Since when does Rodgers “beg” for a roughing the passer call? You’re delusional.

Ditto. This is the kind of behavior I do not want my team to tolerate.

You know what’s sick? Johnny Jolly has an addiction, no evidence he’s ever hurt anyone. The guy needs treatment. Instead 6 years in prison, NFL career over.

Watch Walden get a slap on the wrist and some ridiculous suspension, for BATTERING HIS GIRLFRIEND.

I’m afraid you’ll be disappointed. Most Packer fans will consider this a big deal and most will want him off the team if it’s true.

You say that all snarky, like Packer fans are going to be hypocrites when dealing with Walden vs. Suh, but what you will find is that most Packer fans feel that if if these allegations are remotely true that he should be CUT by the team and he probably SHOULD be required to take some anger management classes before he’s let back in by the league ON A DIFFERENT TEAM.

I don’t need him to be convicted of this to think he should be cut, I need just enough information to come out that makes it likely (see Chris Cook) that he did it. No real details have emerged yet other than that something happened at 2:30 a.m., at 6:30 the woman called police and was treated for a cut and a bruise at a local hospital.

With your boy Suh, it was all there for the world to see – a classeless idiot losing what little grasp of reality he had by trying to rip Josh Sittons helmet off (earlier in the game) and then trying to bash Evan Dietrich-Smith’s head into the turf and then kicking him as he’s pulled off.

Yes, Walden should be gone if there is anything to this at all.

However, I doubt you’re a real Packer fan, unless you mean a still-bitter Favre fan masquerading as a Packer fan.

I watch EVERY game, and I don’t know where your foolish “Rodgers begs for roughing penalties” thing came from, but it is empirically untrue. Period. If you think he is you are either a Packer rival, or delusional.

He DOES occasionally ask for a pass interference penalty that may be in the gray area, but that’s just like a number of other QBs in the league who believe in their receivers so think the guys must have been open but for pass interference.

As a Packer fan I find it kind of funny that queens, kitties and teddy bear fans find their way to a Packer string and post illogical and unreasonable comments simply to try and get a rise out of the fans.

You can say whatever you want, we as Packer fans know a couple of things for sure:

    1. We don’t tolerate, nor do we wish to have players on our team who behave like that off or on the field. So Walden, if this is true, we don’t want you….period.
    2. The only reason you non-Pack fans come here to post is because these types of incidents are so rare for the Pack in comparison to the other teams, that you grasp for straws. It’s all you got. Oh boy! a Packer was arrested, calling all NFC north fans, hurry to the blog, we finally have something to talk smack about. Ridiculous.

To all Pack fans – they are all jealous. We have the best team in the NFL, the best QB in the NFL, we are currently undefeated and we are defending Superbowl Champions, Packers are one of the class acts in the league, we rival the Steelers for the biggest fan base, and we are the most storied franchise in NFL history. The Superbowl trophy is named after OUR legendary coach.

So one of our guys does something bad off the field and they flock here to post and use that one lone straw they have to try and poke us in the eye.

Packer fans – you are above the bologna, so let them have their moment, you know we don’t want those kinds of shenanigans and we will all rejoice when Walden is cut, if this stuff is true.

Tell me again how many years it took the Packers to cut strings with Johnny Ho HO HO Jolly since the FIRST time he was arrested for doing or selling drugs? I may be wrong, but the Pack may still be retaining Jolly’s rights as a player.
As for the other posters who were sarcastically commenting about Aaron Rodgers “begging for a flag”……………it happens more than you know Packer fans. Anytime Rodgers gets hit or picks himself off the ground from a sack, the first person he is always looking at with those “big brown eyes” in the Referee. The only reason I’m joinin’ this “dog-fight” is cuz of all NFL teams, Packer fans are the first to talk trash about other teams players and how “holier than thou” Packer players are……it gets rather sickening. There’s a whole list of Packer “offenders” and lest you forget, Mark “the Molester” Chmura happens to be in your famed Packer HOF…..now that’s sick.

lnfinite says:Nice act of hypocrisy there packer fan. I see you and your piddle and puke brethren all over Bears, Vikings and Lions threads posting trash. To see you whine about it when it is served back, your reaction is to type your drunken logic just makes us laugh.

    _______________________________

I don’t happen to visit Bears, Lions or Vikings threads, I don’t like those teams.

I am loyal to my team and the only reason it seems like dribble to you, is because you don’t have anything to say back.

I’m sorry I misspoke, the Packers aren’t undefeated, they lost to….oh wait
You’re right we don’t have the best QB in the league, there is…..oops
Again, shoot, it wasn’t the Packers who have the most championships in NFL history, it’s the……

    haha

    Kind of funny dude

AND the reason I felt it necessary to say what I said is because no matter how many of these “holier-than-thou” (as you call it) Packer fans stated in the thread that we DON’T WANT PLAYERS LIKE WALDEN, without hypocrisy, and without a hesitation – people like you come back with comments like yours.

Apparently your whole lot in life is to come spew crap to Pack fans. I’m thinking you may not have much else to do? Who is your team? Do you have one? How are they doing this year? Are you loyal to them, or are you more interested in talking smack to real football fans?

People like that don’t belong in the NFL, period. It doesn’t matter what team you are supposed to represent, it’s not okay to hit a woman. Speaking of which, I don’t know why Chris Cook is still on the Vikings roster.

6 game suspension goodell! Oh wait he is a Packer so nothing will happen. Those fat, smelly inbred hicks can do anything they want!

wow, I thought the Packers were god’s gift to football. That they are perfect in every way. Nothing they ever do is wrong.

Walden is probably surprised he got arrested. Not because he committed a crime, but because Green Bay doesn’t arrest its punk athletes. they protect them.

  90. lnfinite says: Nov 26, 2011 12:14 AM

Simply put, when packler fans get confronted they simply deny and claim loyalty to their team. Just like their team playing dirty that goes unnoticed they hope their trash talk also goes without observation.

No wonder it is fun to pick on packler fans for being such ignorant clowns.

I do not excuse the retaliation both Robison and Suh did but there is a trend that is the cause for such lunacy. It is up to the refs to choose to either enforce action or blow things off risking further ugly behavior.

Again I said once caught our attention, now twice it has become a trend.

If he gets charged the Packers will immediately cut him. Brandon Underwood and Johnny Jolly were Ted Thompson draft picks and were let go, the Packers don’t stand for players with off the field issues.
    ———————————————–

Ummm…wrong! Johnnu Jolly has NOT been cut by the Packers.

I never realized how many people hated the packers before this site. its weird, its just a game.

    ———————————————–

People don’t hate the Packers…just their fans.

    @ axespray

It’s not about a fanbase being proud and loyal to their team; rival fanbases can relate and appreciate that. It’s the unprovoked attacks on other teams and their fanbases. It’s the arrogance to think your team does no wrong, when factual history proves otherwise. It’s the on going hypocracy so many of your fanbase lives by, and then denies, even when clear cut examples are provided for them.

Go ahead, root your team onto 19-0 and a 14th world championship…if only that were all your fanbase did…

Shame! She ended up hospitalized which under state statute (Yes I’m a Cop in WI) makes it a felony, hence his stay in jail until Monday the 28th. Massive failure on Walden’s part and this may end his career in Green Bay. The defense has shown enough holes during the season, this will hurt.

  94. veence69 says: Nov 26, 2011 9:32 AM

That’s odd. Usually it’s the Packer FANS who are being charged with domestic abuse..

  95. duece5 says: Nov 27, 2011 10:35 AM

Dude found out there was absolutely NOTHING to do in Green Bay, so he does this??

    STAY CLASSY GREEN BAY!!!!!!

Go join your half-brother Cook and get out of town.

Well, wait, he doesn’t live in Gbay like their entire roster!!!

  96. stellarperformance says: Nov 27, 2011 11:06 AM

Packer fans eveywhere…take note: Never hate those people who are jealous of you. Respect their jealousy, because they are the ones who think that you are better than them. They continue to prove it on this site again and again, otherwise they’d keep quiet. They wish they could be us.

  97. 1stngoal says: Nov 27, 2011 11:13 AM

They should cut this turd loose ASAP. It’s time for Vic So’oto to get his opportunity…
