Bradshaw out again for Giants

Reuters

The New York Giants will try to end a two-game losing streak without their top tailback.

As expected, running back Ahmad Bradshaw officially has been scratched, due to a lingering foot problem.  Bradshaw did not practice at all this week.

Also out are left tackle Will Beatty (eye/back) and defensive back Derrick Martin (hamstring).

Doubtful for the Giants is linebacker Michael Boley (hamstring).  Receiver Mario Manningham (knee) and receiver Michael Clayton (knee) are questionable.

Several Giants are probable, which means there’s a virtual certainty they’ll play:  tackle Kareem McKenzie (toe), defensive end Justin Tuck (ankle/shoulder), defensive end Osi Umenyiora (knee), and running back D.J. Ware (concussion).

The Giants visit the Saints on Monday night.  A loss puts them a full game behind the Cowboys in the NFC East.

  1. Most Giants are not playing, the entire team is on IR or currently playing hurt. This team is a team of second string players right now. The Saint will slaughter them, as will the Packers and Cowboys after that. Coughlin will “retire” at the end of the season and the OC, ST, LB, and OL coaches will all be fired. Perry Fewell may stay, but the new coach will make that decision. (Cowher?)

  2. they better win this week because I’ve pencilled them in for a loss next week against the Packers. go pack go!!

  3. I think Ahmad might be done for the year. How many issues can you have with the same foot, especially one that has titanium rods in it. I hope not but fear he is.

  4. “fewell may stay” ……. Huh? Rebdeard surely you cannot be serious.
This guy had a defense last season that despite nice ‘numbers’, got torched on a near weekly basis. This season, with the injuries, he insists on playing the much over hyped Tampa 2 soft zone. This in spite of the fact the giants are built around Eli and the pass rush. Why was JPP playing nose last week WITHOUT Vick in the lineup? Why the reluctance to unleash the pass rush? Why the infatuation with only three down lineman on 31% of the snaps this season? Coordinators always get bashed but I cannot understand how Gilbride gets ripped despite ALWAYS having an offense in the top ten. Meantime, Fewell gets a pass. I don’t want to hear about injuries. Everyone has them. If you cannot teach your rookie linebackers to play the Tampa 2 zone then you obviously are not a good coach.

  5. Please Please Please just hand Scott the ball forget half of foot and fall down jacobs its over done lets do something different lets try something new and not the same old way we go down with jacobs 22 yards !

  6. I guess this means were stuck watching Brandon Jacobs tiptoe around like he’s a wannabe Barry Sanders. Maybe this time he wont cry after the game when he gets booed

  7. “Cowboys own the East”

One playoff win in 15 years. As usual, you Texas boys are all hat, no cattle.

    Tony Romo > Eli Manning

    ———————————————–

    A shiny turd > a turd

    ————————————————————–

You have to be an uneducated fan to think Romo isn’t a top 3 quarterback…

  9. when manning throws for 48 yards and 2 tds he will be the 5th qb ever to throw for 3,000 yards and 20tds in 7 straight season. Peyton, Farve, Marino, Brees are the others. when u dont know what your talking about please dont post on a football site. Romo might as well be playing canadian football compared to eli.

  10. One playoff win in 15 years.

    ———————————————————-

Still many, many more playoff wins than the Giants, though… even though the Giants have been around decades longer. And a more recent playoff win than the Giants, too.

  11. Cowboys own the East
    —————————
Thing is, Giants could lose every other remaining game but the two matchups with the Cowboys, with the Cowboys winning every other remaining game but those two with the Giants, and yet still the Giants would win the division. They’d both be 10-6 at that point. So the Cowboys hardly “own the East”, it’s up for grabs.

  12. “Because what happened last year matters soooo much, right?”

No, because one year can always be an aberration. 15 years is an established pattern. That’s why I didn’t mention last year. RIF.

“Still many, many more playoff wins than the Giants, though… even though the Giants have been around decades longer.”

Funny how you ignore they have the same number of playoff losses…even though the Giants have been around decades longer. Anyone who knows football history knows the Giants were woefully mismanaged from the late 60s thru the entire 70s. They also know the guy that gave you the majority of those playoff wins, Tom Landry, was a Giants assistant for years. I don’t think any Giants fan would dispute that letting both Lombardi and Landry leave was one of the biggest mistakes made in NFL history. But you’re really time traveling there, howley. How’s things going with Jerrah running the ship now that his college buddy, Jimmy, is long gone? Not too good when you only rack up one postseason win in 15 years. Let’s face it, Jerruh is doing to Dallas exactly what the Mara family fight did the Giants. Killing years and years of opportunity. Enjoy it. I know I will. Everytime Jerruh throws a player or a coach under the bus, you can feel another year slipping away.

  13. “So continues the skid”

You talking about the 51 years without a Championship you Philly boys have going through? I think half a century is a little too long a period of time to call a “skid”, dawk. Disaster, catastrophe, and debacle all seem to be a better choice of words.

Giants are 6-4. They have 6 games left. If they win the two Cowboys games and lose the 4 other games my math has them at 8-8

The Cowboys actually have one more playoff loss than the Giants but I didn’t ignore it, just like I didn’t ignore the fact that the Giants have a losing record in the playoffs. I figure “why pile on?”

How’s things going with Jerrah running the ship now that his college buddy, Jimmy, is long gone?

    ————————————————————-

They’ve won as many Super Bowls as the Giants have since then. And they still have a playoff win more recently than the Giants.

  16. Thing is, Giants could lose every other remaining game but the two matchups with the Cowboys, with the Cowboys winning every other remaining game but those two with the Giants, and yet still the Giants would win the division.

    ——————————————————————-

Nice math skills. If the Giants lose every game except the two Cowboys games, they’d be 8-8. If the Cowboys win every game but the Giants games, they’d be 10-6.

  17. No, because one year can always be an aberration. 15 years is an established pattern.

Sez you. I sez it’s a convenient window.

The New York Football Giants: The Cowboys have won a playoff game more recently than they have.

  18. Eli Manning> (Tony Romo=Michael Vick)

And I am an eagles fan….

    ——————————————————-

That explains it. Eagles fans don’t know a good QB when they see one.

  19. when manning throws for 48 yards and 2 tds he will be the 5th qb ever to throw for 3,000 yards and 20tds in 7 straight season.

    ———————————————————————-

And only 113 interceptions in that time! Nice factoid. Romo is the 3rd highest rated QB in NFL history. Eli’s not in the top 40. Tony Romo is tied for 5th all time in yards per attempt. Eli’s not in the top 100. Romo is 8th all time in completion percentage. Eli is not in the top 50. The Cowboys win because of Romo. The Giants win in spite of Eli.

  20. No, because one year can always be an aberration. 15 years is an established pattern.

I’ve been in Texas far more times than I would care to and I never noticed windows bigger than the house. You have a very convenient definition of “window”. How many years before the “window” term goes away and you call it what it is – an embarrassment? BTW – what did Dallas do with that one playoff win? Oh, yeah. Go out and get humiliated by Minnesota and then let Brooking cry about the beatdown both during and after the game. To quote your LB, “classless”. You want to troll on Giants posts? Bring a better game. I had initially thought you were one of PFT’s old Dallas trolls, Vox, come back with a new login, but he had better stuff. You’re just a shadow.
