Kenny Britt wasn’t developed yet either so he really had Washington and Gage to throw to. Say what you want about Vince, I would take him back on the Titans in a heart beat. First off, the run threat kept CJ running. If you put 8 in the box with VY as QB, a backside backer had to hesitate or stay at home with the threat of Vince bootlegging. It opened things up. I have never witnessed, although I haven’t really watched Vick a lot over his career, make that game winning drive. I watched VY do it numerous times. Too many times I can’t give you an exact number and so far he is 1 for 1 this season with game winning drives. He was a head case cause Bud wanted him to play and Jeff didn’t. When you start as a rookie and take an 0-3 team to 8-8 and make the pro bowl and in your second year you go 10-6 and Vince was the only weapon we had on that team, and make the playoffs. Then booed off the field and benched just to save the season after from 0-6 to 8-8. The guy wins football games. It wasn’t our d we were ranked 30th our 0-6 year and 30th his rookie year. He throws picks, but throws the TD to win, or throw the big completion downfield to give your kicker a chance to win it. Throw 12 picks a game for all I care, just make sure you make those plays to win the game and Vince has done that. If he cuts down on the picks, he could be considered a great player.

actually im wrong he had travis henry his rookie year. it was his second year when he led the team to the playoffs when the only rb he had was white on a bumb knee

other than kenny britt and nate washington, which young only had about 10 starts with those name one wr he played with that is still in the nfl…his first year he had roydell williams and brandon jones at wr………..and his rb was lendale white who had a tore mcl all year…and he had almost got the titans in the playoffs after 0-3 start…and the d wasnt good that year either so dont use that as a bs excuse

I’d say that its safer to bet on the latter. VY was horrible in the 1st half and lucky to pull out that win against the Giants. He won’t get that lucky twice in a row.

Young’s an enigma. He has more int’s than TDs, he plays like a moax for three quarters then takes nine minutes off the clock with pinpoint passing, good decision making, checking off, and staying cool in the pocket for the win. I liked what I saw, but Vince would once again be the guy that exasperated Fisher once he was comfortable that he was the man. Vince is hungry right now. Just how Reid likes it. When Vick was hungry, he played lights out. But with $100 mil. tucked under the mattress, he is a too- short, injury prone turnover machine with happy feet. Young is hungry to prove that he is starter material and get the pay day that goes with it. He wants to prove Fisher wrong, and that in the right system, he can get wins without being a headache. Don’t see that happening. Vince is what he is.

They say quarterbacks need to have a short memory. The media’s memory is always shorter. 44 TD / 46 INT career. Lost his job to a 37 year old Kerry Collins. And the team that drafted him 3rd overall decided they’d rather have no one at quarterback than bring him back for another year.

Philly’s defense kept Young in the last game, despite his 3 interceptions. If they keep it up, then Young should do okay (I definitely think he needs more play time with the team before we say he’s better or worse than Vick, but Vick has already lost enough games so you might as well go with the guy that can stay healthy). If the defense softens, then Young probably won’t impress anyone.

I disagree there are 32 better QB’s then Vince Young. This isn’t a rookie we’re talking about with a high ceiling. Last week he threw for 3 INTs which on any given week will usually lead to a loss.

Vince Young is “clutch”. And I hate that word. But if anyone in the NFL right now is worthy of being called “clutch”, it’s VY. He gets it done when he needs to. Granted, it won’t be pretty. But at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter HOW you did it, it’s THAT you did it. Give me Young over about 1/2 the QBs in the NFL.

2. Vick choked almost every 4th quarter away this season
3. Vick can’t see over defenders and gets a lot of passes batted down
4. Vick still can’t read defenses properly resulting in him holding onto the ball too long
5. Vick has been a turnover machine
6. Vick is still a better rusher than he is a passer
7. Inconsistent QB, one week will be a career game, the next will be terrible.

What did you base #3 on? They are similar in accuracy, Young actually has a higher completion percentage.

So? I wouldn’t have long termed Vick as my QB but if you’re the GM, I’m the HC and you give me Vince Young as a passer in the NFL, I’m taking early retirement. You don’t “just win” without a way to put up serious points and there’s no 2009 model Chris Johnson to hand off to. 150 yards – 3 turnovers a game from a QB isn’t a way to put up serious points.

This game comes down to which QB will be the most productive.

The Iggles are 4-6, having not faced a quarterback of Brady’s caliber at all this year; he’s the best they’ve faced so far this year.

New England is 7-3, and VY is far from the best QB they’ve faced so far.

You tell me who’s going to win?

In this corner, “Lights Out” – a somewhat diminutive galloping QB, now in only his 8th year due to time spent in the slammer. “Lights Out” is still learning to read defenses, gets hurt a lot, produces spectacular performances once or twice a year, and is a fairly efficient turnover machine.

His opponent tomorrow is “It’s Not About Me” – a less than bright QB in his 5th year, sporting a history of going mental and a career production of 150 yards/game. He is currently on pace to throw 11 picks for every 100 attempts.
