With all the 2 wr sets, he never sees the field, really. Amazingly, they don’t even seem to miss the deep threat, since Brady is on pace to break the passing record for yardage.

However, those of you that are versed in the language of Belichick will know that any time someone like Chad is a late cut for a game it translates to “this guy is getting cut or traded this week.”

Thanks for nothing, Chad. Good luck elsewhere.

The Patriots have little show from their 2006 draft and nothing to show from their 2007 draft.

They are reportedly paying Chad Johnson/OchoCinco
6 million dollars and he has only caught 11 balls, how is that low risk? How is that smart?

I think this may be the end of the Ocho experiment. I could see a cut coming soon. He hasn’t shown any chemistry w/ Brady or flashes of what he can do all year. In fact, it doesn’t appear that TB is even looking his way anymore. They can’t use him on special teams. At this point, he’s dead weight.

Brady has already called himself out for not getting Chad the ball when he’s open so yes that is part of the problem. the other part, I believe, is that Chad so badly wants to do everything right that he’s making silly mistakes and putting too much pressure on himself to be perfect. I mean he’s a seasoned vet who ahs many good eyrs behind him…and he is still having trouble knowing where to line up sometimes (a big reason he’s not in the hurry up package, I’m guessing).

Chad’s not a dumb man at all, so I think he’s got a bit of a confidence issue going on. Whether it gets resolved or not I don’t know, but as far as I know, they are still happy with his work ethic and “want to” . At some point, that won’t be enough.

I agree – this is not news. The guy hasn’t played all year. Could it be that the Pats actually miss Brandon Tate? At least that guy could run past someone and he also played special teams. They got SOMETHING out of Tate, they get nothing out of the self-promoting Chad TebowCinco.

Ochocinco’s problems this season are really confusing.

I thought he was a decent receiver? He’s been doing it in Cincy for years with a QB who had less than half the talent Brady has.

And now he suddenly can’t catch or run a route?

I thought he’d be leading the league in receiving yards with Brady throwing to him. Instead, he’s got less yards than a guy who’s 3rd string on the Packers team.

Makes me sad as a football fan seeing him end his career like this. Love him or hate him, the dude is/was entertaining. Hell he got my girlfriend watching games he was playing in. Dude was good for entertainment and regardless of the haters, he’s had a decent career.

Another Low-risk, High-reward signing that would either pay off big, or they’d lose a low round draft pick for. It was pretty much a can’t lose situation, especially since the 6th round pick would never have made their specific team anyway.

It appears that N.England will lose out on that whopping 6th rounder, however will they manage now?

At least they’ve got 2 firsts and 2 seconds (again) to make up for it next year.

More relevant signings for them in free agency this yr have been Andre Carter, Mark Anderson, and Brian Waters (all tremendous signings that have been HUGE)…but no one from the other 31 teams talks about those. It’s all Haynesworth and Ochocinco, and how “stupid” Belichick was for taking them.
