Andy Reid MUST BE FIRED .That is the only way the Eagle can get better . Teams like Pittsburgh, Green-bay made couches changes that got them over . Enough already , 13 yr of no supper bowl and deteriorating team – How many more year of mediocrity are you guys willing to take ?

Before we all pile on Andy Reid, did anyone actually expect the Eagles to win today? The only way they were going to win was in a shootout because it’s become extremely obvious Juan Castillo has no idea what the hell he’s doing, and you’re not going to outscore the Patriots with Vick and Maclin out of the lineup. It was an unwinnable game.

Sure — and who is supposed to make them take that responsibility? Yeah, that’s right, the head coach.

Any good manager knows that the “managing” part of the job is pretty straightforward. It’s the “leadership” part that is difficult, but is also the most important. Planning well is all fine and good, but if you can get people to buy into your vision, to really WANT to work for you, then they’ll work twice as hard, and that makes a much, much bigger difference.

Look at Dallas last year. 1-7 under Nice Guy Wade, 5-3 under Garrett. It was the same people playing on the field! The same assistants, too. The only change was at the top.

I’m not actually arguing for the Eagles to fire Andy, since I think that would likely make them better (and I don’t want that). Sooner or later, though, someone has to realize that the buck stops there.

I think I speak for the rest of the NFC East in that all 3 teams would welcome the firing of Andy Reid with open arms and would be more then willing to pitch in for a plane ticket that sends him to San Diego for his interview.

Philly fans are more than aware of the good/the bad and the ugly when it comes to our sport teams….we also have no problem expressing it/I have been calling them bums all season long but as a fan for more years than I can count I have earned that right.

All the others here just glad that they are having a bad year have not earned that right. Worry about how your teams are doing and your coaches…..we will take care of our Birds for better and worse….

It makes you long for the days of Buddy Ryan, when we suck we kick your butts when we lose and listen to you cry we’re cheap. When we’re good we made you kiss our butts and and had to listen to you cry about how many Super Bowl rings you won. Now we have an arragant organization thats the Gold Star for doing nothing but borrowing money from his family and the city and riping off contractors on the way to riping the hearts out of every fan in the Philadelphia metropolitan area……..

andy should be kicked upstairs to design offensive plays. when spags gets fired in st louis, the eagles should hire him. they should have never let him get out of town the first time. andy was loyal to an ailing jim johnson, and instead of making jim d coordinator emeritus, they let spags go to the giants and win a super bowl for them (the d won the game, not eli). the eagles need someone to allow the defense to return to its previous prominence….

Looks to me like it’s not Andy’s fault that Desean Jackson doesn’t like being hit. Did anyone else notice that both big drops came when a defender was bearing down on him? One was Tracy White (a decent size LB) and the other was a safety.

Anybody that can defend Andy Reid either hasn’t watched the last 5 years of Eagles football or lives under a rock. The man is simply the most arrogant individual I have ever seen. Anyone who makes an offensive line coach a defensive coordinator and thinks its a good idea should be mentally evaluated right there. Michael Vick a 6 year contract? What did he see that nobody else did after week 7 last year? The man needs to move on period, we need a change and he needs a change. He did some some great things things here but I be the first to offer my assistance in helping tp pack his bags………

how many fire Andy Reid chanters are ready to give up those season tickets because there are about 100,000 on the waiting list. the man is not getting fired, he may choose to leave but will be there at least 2 more years. i have been an Eagle fan since 1955 and this is the best coach the eagles ever had, the owner loves him, the players love him and I’m willing to bet the silent majority of fans want him to stay. Unless you intelligent nay sayers know of the hot assistant or the great college coach thats available and can convince the eagle hierarchy to switch it cant happen. none of the retread coaches Cowher,Gruden,Fisher are more competant maybe maybe you want a Billick or Mangini or Mora. I don’t want any of those guys nope I beleive Andy will be here a long time. now the players are adifferent story theres abou 8 of the current starters that need to go. (theres a reason why Jackson hasn’t been paid.

A lot of other fans think Eagle fans are nuts. Reid has had this team in the playoffs 9 or 10 times in 12 years- every year we wait for this team to fall apart, and this year they finally do. If they fire him, it’s like firing Marty after a 14-2 season in San Diego…who’s going to do better?

Andy needs to go because his philosophies have gotten stale and his personnel decisions have left the team with obvious holes. He doesn’t have to go home but he can’t stay here.

Calling for the coach’s head, demanding the owner to sell the team, and dumping the QB every time the Eagles lose is a long time Philadelphia tradition. Why is anyone surprised?
Reid has had his problems this year, but his overall record proves he’s been the best Eagle coach in franchise history, but that doesn’t seem to matter to the “700 level” fans.

When Andy hired Juan as defensive coordinator I knew they were in trouble.Juan is a good O-line coach but can’t coach defense.If Andy goes out and hires a great defensive coordinator after this season this team will be a Superbowl contender again next year.

Andy might not be perfect, but he’s a pretty decent offensive coach, especially with QBs.

Reid should NOT be fired and if the Eagles do fire him, then look for him to be paid well to be a Redskins head coach while Shanahan would then go to likely San Diego and then Turner would end up in Jacksonville.
