Earlier this afternoon, we reported that the Texans fear quarterback Matt Leinart has suffered a broken collarbone.
Those fears are moving closer to reality.
Per a league source, initial tests point to the diagnosis of a broken left collarbone. More tests will be conducted tomorrow to confirm (or, possibly, debunk) the initial indications.
If it’s broken, Leinart will need surgery, and he’ll miss the rest of the season.
Peter King will have information during Football Night In America regarding the team’s plans at the position. The show starts at 7:00 p.m. ET on NBC.
