McCourty, Chung won’t play for Patriots

The Eagles can take comfort. Their secondary may be a mess on Sunday, but it’s not nearly as bad as the Patriots’ group.

New England downgraded safety Patrick Chung (foot) and cornerback Devin McCourty (shoulder) to out on Saturday.

So they will be without the two best players in a defensive backfield that has already been among the league’s worst. Waiver wire pickup Antwaun Molden and undrafted rookie Sterling Moore will start in place of them.

The Patriots also downgraded starting center Dan Connolly (groin), who got hurt last week.  We mentioned previously Saturday that Chad Ochocinco will not suit up either.

  1. Un-like the Eagles, the Patriots who have been swamped with injuries on both sides of the ball continue to find a way to win. I see no reason why that wont continue against the Eagles.
Im a Jets fan,but I have to admire the Pats for thier ability to adapt and overcome. That and coaching is going to add up to another loss for the Eagles and a W for the Pats.

You make it sound like they’re boycotting the team with that headline

Sure, this is true, but remember they have both missed multiple games together already, and those turned out to be some of the best defensive efforts by the Patriots this year. Everyone continues to forget that McCourty isn’t their best CB this year, that honor goes to the league leader in INTs – Kyle Arrington!

  4. I’m back, told the g-men fans to settle down because the eagles were going to win in their house…now, I have bad news for the pats fans…Eagles for the upset win today. Come back to this post around 7pm…..
