Patrick Peterson ties NFL record with fourth punt return TD

Patrick Peterson won the last game between the Cardinals and Rams with a punt return touchdown in overtime.

He’s now turned this one around with another one. Peterson took a punt 80 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter to give the Cardinals a 20-10 lead over the Rams. Peterson hasn’t been quite the cover man the Cardinals hoped he would be when they grabbed him with the fifth overall selection, but his punt return skills have made the pick pay off.

Peterson’s touchdown was his fourth of the season on a punt return, tying him for the NFL single season record. Devin Hester, Rick Upchurch and Jack Christiansen have also turned the trick, but Peterson is the only one of the four to go 80 or more yards on each of his returns.

Its a shame that once he becomes a lockdown corner their not going to let him return them to avoid injury. It sucks, but its true

He is a beast punt returner, but this guy was SUPPOSED to be a pro bowl caliber corner in his rookie year and the safest pick in the draft. He’s not a bust, but he certainly isn’t a pro bowl corner either. His odds should’ve increased when he landed in the NFCW, yet Alex Smith and Michael Crabtree…. yes you read that right…. took this guy to school. Essentially so far they have spent the 5th pick on a punt returner

He still has plenty of time to break the single season record too.

Wooooowowowow this guy is a beast ,the thing is once becomes a great corner they will only use him when they need a spark on returns so enjoy him this year and next by then he will be a top corner by middle of next year

well im sure nobody thought he would have 4 that should be interceptions but very impressive shows more talent and one of the futures to be a top 10 corner
