Bengals keep Keith Rivers on non-football injury list for rest of season

Bengals linebacker Keith Rivers emerged from the non-football injury list earlier this month, opening a three-week window within which the team had to decide whether to add him to the active roster or end his season.

The Bengals have chosen the latter.

The team has announced that Rivers will remain on the NFI list, due to a wrist injury suffered in July.  He will not be able to play at all in 2011.

Rivers was a top-ten draft pick in 2008.

This is merely a Money decision. Rivers never lived up to his first round contract, and we dont want to pay him a few million to play a few weeks, even if he is much better than dan skuta and dontay moch. Bottom line is, for a top 10 pick, he has been nothing short of mediocre for our bengals defense. Sadly, I see him being cut after the season, he has been injury prone too.

In local news the Cleveland Browns Waive long snapper Ryan Pontbriand and signed Christian Yount. Can you say the Mike Polk Jr. curse.

It would be nice to have him but we seem to be doing okay without. Sure would like to know any details about the wrist injury, though. Just a tad too mysterious.

Rivers is not impactful and is too injury prone. Buh bye now.

He has never been the same since Hines Ward lit him up a couple years back. Dude looked good early I’m his career.

Yep, still reeling from the hit that Hines put on him. Broke his jaw, joggled his brain, and who knows what else. As far as the wrist injury, this is a family forum; let’s keep it clean….
