Bengals linebacker Keith Rivers emerged from the non-football injury list earlier this month, opening a three-week window within which the team had to decide whether to add him to the active roster or end his season.
The Bengals have chosen the latter.
The team has announced that Rivers will remain on the NFI list, due to a wrist injury suffered in July. He will not be able to play at all in 2011.
Rivers was a top-ten draft pick in 2008.
