Sidney Rice unlikely to face Eagles

Sidney Rice AP

Sidney Rice has suffered two concussions in the span of three weeks.

The Seahawks have three days to prepare to play on Thursday night against the Eagles. It’s easy to see where this is going.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll admitted there is a “very slim” chance Rice plays. Ben Obomanu should start in place of Rice, with Golden Tate getting more time according to Danny O’Neil of the Seattle Times.

Seattle is coming off perhaps its most disheartening loss of the year. It appeared they were making progress, but Tarvaris Jackson averaged 4.8 yards-per-attempt and the defense collapsed in the fourth quarter in a home loss to the Redskins.

This guy is so great…when he’s on the field, but he just can’t stay on it. And he’s not “a product of Brett Favre”, I’ve seen him make plays with T-Jack

    Injury bug in seattle?.whats new?

this is what I was worried about when we acquired rice. he was injury prone in minnesota. when healthy, hes a beast.again, WHEN hes healthy. obomanu is a underrated wr, and bmw has to step it up.

pete needs to bench tjax. seattles out of playoff contention, and tjaxs is obviously hurt. after every throw you could see him grimacing in pain. keeping him in for meaningless game is going to further his injury, and could very well cause more (maybe permanent) damage. I see people on here bash tavaris daily, but you cant deny the guy is tough. playing with a tore peck muscle with a patchwork oline is no easy feat.

    go hawks.

What frustrates me is Whitehurst can’t do better than a hurt TJack? We traded a high 2nd round draft choice to get Whitehurst? It is the only decision I disagreed with Peter Carroll. We must draft a QB in the 1st round. We won’t get Luck or Barkley, but we can get the Oklahoma guy or Griffith 111

Huge mistake for the Vikings not matching the Seahawks offer to Rice.

sno-Whitehurst has shown that he CAN’T do better than an injured TJack.

Agree with QTown..season is over as far as playoffs are concerned..TJack needs to be shut down and get his injury taken of so he can come back next year to compete against the REAL QB of the future.

Let Charlie play out the string and see if he can show any improvement(pretty obvious PC doesn’t think so) or give Portis some reps to see if you have anything in him.

Right now, probably picking the top 10, with new salary scale, if the player they need isn’t there, could be a good time to stock some additional draft picks.

Seattle prepare to be demolished. Babin is going to run wild and big jenk, Cole and the rest are going to feast on your team. Feast like a mantis.

    @jeromebrown99iggles

i love when dumb fans and overrated teams underestimate the seahawks coming to seattle is not going to be an easy win… what is babin (who cant play the run) and trent cole (who is going to get shut down by russell okung) going to do when we run all over yous like every other team has this season wake up yous are not any better than us no matter how much money yous spent in the offseason…

Actually they swapped 2nd round picks in 2010 and gave up a 3rd round pick in 2011 for him…wasn’t really that bad of a trade honestly. Had it panned out it would have been more than worth it. Barkley is going to depend on how much they would be willing to give up for him…if he is in deed the guy they are targeting and for sure want I’m pretty sure they can put together a sweet package to trade up for him.

Seattle, the only way we are ever going to have a great team is to demand it, how by not buying tickets to a bad show. I like Petie’s Defense, but Blevins and T-jack show needs to go!!

At this point, Sidney’s ass is the only extremity that HASN’T been a sling this year!

Philly fans still talkin after the phillies and now eagles tsts..money and talk does not = ring

  16. vahawker says: Nov 30, 2011 9:03 AM

Souldogdave..he hit his head on the turf without being touched while catching a ball. Self inflicted concussion..in this case, he shouldn’t have ducked.

The only people in Philly who are paying attention to this season are the Eagles themselves. All the talk show hosts have switched to the question of how to replace Andy Reid and whether DeSean should get a contract.

I really like Pete Carroll. I hope they can get their s**t together next year and actually start to compete.
