Guys, Parcells even thinks Parcells made a mistake selecting Jake Long over Matt Ryan. Unless Parcells is lying, lol. I imagine Parcells doesn’t like Luck because he has Matt Ryan arm strength at this point instead of Bledsoe strength. Who knows. Just a shame Luck’s going to Indianapolis.

He picked Jake Long over Matt Ryan. Hard to argue with that pick at this point. Long is regarded as the best or second best LT in the NFL and the jury is out on whether Ryan is a franchise QB.

Most people would concur that Ryan is a Franchise QB. I’m certain if you ask Atlanta org they’d say he’s franchise QB.
Finding a franchise (or even good QB) is much much harder that drafting a great LT. I’m sure Miami would love to have Ryan and an avg tackle rather than Moore and a great LT.

And Parcells makes a good point, because last year at this time Da’quan Bowers was considered the 1st pick in the draft and he ended up going in the middle of the second round. You never know what will turn up with these full body cavity examinations they do at the combine now.

That’s the safe thing to say, but we all know what’s going down, bar injury. Why else would it be called, “Suck for Luck”?

Who calls it “Suck for Luck”? The Coaches, the GM’s, the players? No…..”Suck for Luck” is a media creation.

It’s amusing that some fans think sucking is a new concept, invented by teams in their quest to land Andrew Luck. The Miami Dolphins went 0-16 a couple of years ago, and to my recollection Andrew Luck wasn’t in that draft.

people need to stop saying that the colts are packing it in for the year. with manning out they are absolutely horrible. it just goes to show you how truly important the quarterback is. do you most of you really think an NFL player would tank their season in order to draft better? don’t give me “it’s the front office” because it’s not. who is available that would be better at a needed position on the colts this year? there is not ONE person or even 4 people out there who would make a difference on this team. the colts needed manning like peanut butter needs jelly. so cut the crap and stop whining about the colts tanking it cuz they aren’t these players have more integrity than that.

It’s not passing on Matt Ryan (average/above average QB) that will be Tuna’s QB drafting legacy. It’s going to be passing on Ryan Mallett in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. Dan Marino had attitude problems in college, too, and he didn’t turn out half bad.

OK…so you go back 2 decades and he drafted Bledsoe. Take a look at his last 2 stops with Dallas and Miami. He clearly liked to draft defensive front 7 players in the first round. The exception was Jake Long, and even though Jake is very good, would Miami be better off with Matt Ryan instead? Luck is the number one pick in the draft, and if Indy does not want him, they will trade with Washington, Miami or any other team looking for a franchise QB.

The causual/nouveau NFL fan is terrible for the sport. I hate the Cowboys, Giants, Dolphins and Patriots. However, Bill Parcels has forgotten more about football than all of you will ever know. The deal is, that the Colts will be afraid not to pick Luck, on chance he turns out to be what all the “experts” say he is. Frankly, Parcells is correct. Luck has not gone through any scrutiny and when he does, the person is shouted down.(see Phil Simms)

In my opinion, Luck is not the best and there are at least 5 guys as good or better. There is no way he can live up to the hype. Based on that, he will be considered a failure or a project upon lack of immediate success.

For those that are comparing Luck to Leaf or JeMarcus, there is a big difference. Luck has a much better work ethic than either. Work ethic was the reason the Colts passed on Leaf and many people raised red flags on work ethic for JeMarcus as well. Especially Chris Landry from Fox.

Look at his draft history…he usually takes a defensive front seven in the first round (with the exception of Jake Long). He stays away from taking QB’s, RB’s and WR’s in the first round. To me, the first pick should always be the best QB coming out of college, and if the team picking first does not want that QB, they should trade the pick away. Luck will be the first pick in the draft, just a matter of what Indy does with the pick or Manning
