Josh Freeman not throwing at Bucs practice, uncertain to play

Josh Freeman’s thumb is just fine a month after a strange accident at a shooting range. His shoulder is the bigger problem.

The Bucs quarterback didn’t throw for the second straight day of practice on Thursday, according to PewterReport.com. He hurt the shoulder on the Bucs’ final play from scrimmage against the Titans last Sunday when he lost a fumble.

Freeman has taken “mental reps” this week at practice, but he hasn’t been able to throw. Bucs coach Raheem Morris said that Freeman’s status may not be determined until Saturday or possibly gametime.

The Bucs need to beat Carolina to avoid falling into a tie for NFC South cellar at 4-8.  I’m starting to feel better about picking the Panthers to pull off the road upset.
