It’s starting to look like it’s the Bears or bust for Donovan McNabb.

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Friday the team isn’t interested in claiming McNabb as a potential backup. The team put in a claim for Kyle Orton last week, but the Chiefs got him.

Now that we know McNabb asked for his release after becoming the Vikings’ No. 3 quarterback, it seems less likely that McNabb had an inkling another team like the Bears wanted him. It seems more likely that he’ll go unclaimed through waivers.

In other Friday rejection news, Sage Rosenfels is also on waivers and probably won’t be claimed. John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reported Friday that the Texans aren’t interested in bringing Rosenfels back to town.

Jake Delhomme will backup T.J. Yates on Sunday against the Falcons, with Kellen Clemens the No. 3 quarterback and McNabb likely watching from home.
