It’s all over. McNabb is McDone. Turns out TO was right about McNabb running out of gas in the super bowl. Makes you wonder why he didn’t plan a better exit strategy from the league than to go out looking this bad.

As for the Eagles, the window is slammed shut and has been since that last appearance in the NFC title game. The window only stays open so long, no matter how good your team is. 4 straight trips folks, you are supposed to have @ least one super bowl out of that. Time to blow it up and start over. It’s a wrap.

Athletes signing 1-day contracts so that they can “retire” with a team they used to play for is the most tired, played, stupid “tradition” in sports. Whether McNabb does this or not–he retired (or got retired) as a Viking. Only the freaking knobs of the world would think anything else.

Yeah, and McNabb was a number 3 in Washington too. And in MN as well.

Maybe, just maybe, Reid is an offensive genius who made an above-average QB and subpar WR’s into a great supporting cast for one of the most under-rated RB’s of all-time…Brian Westbrook.

Brian Westbrook “carried” this team, along with the defense. The rest was pure system on offense – they were system guys. History has proven it to be so.

The QB, coach, and owner antagonize him out of town. The fans loved him, he was the favorite Eagle of his time here.

And that is why he was driven away, McNabb couldn’t handle it.

Pretty funny how everyone on here always jumps on someone when they are on the downside of their career, guy had a great run, and is still trying to do his thing to no avail. I’ve never been a fan of him, but can at least acknowledge that he was pretty Damn good in his day, quit acting like he has never been good, NFL players in their 30s plus pretty much are always on the downhill…

I’m a die hard Eagles fan and I can’t deny that Donovan gave us many good years! He may not have gotten us a Superbowl but he had many NFC Championship appearances(with 1 Superbowl appearance) and many successful seasons. I really hope the Eagles do give him a one day contract at the least so he can retire as an Eagle if that’s what he wants to do!…I wish you the best Donovan, you’re a good guy and were a solid QB in ur prime.

Kurt Warner was on NFL Network saying McNabb went to teams with systems that didn’t fit his skill set. He said he went through the same thing the year he went to the Giants.

But it’s the physical status – is he in shape? What is his offseason program?

As a Cowboys fan, I couldn’t stand McNabb. He ripped out our hearts so many times. His last year in Philly he was still productive, and he deserved a better exit than a trade for low round picks.

Not so much. You think they shipped him off for low round picks to disrespect him? That’s all they could get for him. It’s very telling when you compare the trade for Kolb; he was an un-proven, (apparent) flash in the pan and netted the Eagles way more than a veteran QB who had taken his team to 4 NFC Championships and a SB in a very short amount of time.

I said his career was over when Philly had to literally pawn him off for the equivalent of what a prisoner would pay for 2 packs of cigarettes, a shank, and having the guard turn his back for 3 minutes in the shower…

All of you saying the Bears or Texans should claim him are out of your minds…did McNabb bean you in the head with a can of Chunky Soup? His skills are diminishing… a lot of his throws were HORRIBLE!!! After the Redskins & Vikings, he’s carrying too much baggage….#1 he doesn’ appear able to learn new offenses/ playbooks very quickly. This is sort of important since the play-off’s are just a few weeks away. #2 he hasn’t exactly got a reputation for mentoring young QB’s…which is what the Texans want from their backup. #3 nobody thinks he sees himself as a back-up. #4 did I mention he’s played like crap the past season and a half??????

McNabb is viewed as an unmotivated, lazy, sloth. The characterization is accurate and teams don’t need that sort of poisonous character brought into their team. McNabb made his many millions and is now just fat, lazy and, most of all, complacent. If he were motivated he could be good for a team.

Now they’ve got a pouty WR thats half the size of T.O and half as talented doing the same thing. It took a few years of the Eagles receiving core sucking while T.O was blowing it up in Dallas for Philly fans to finally say, “yeah, maybe we should have kept T.O”. They’ve learned and now they’re like “Oh yeah, redo Jackson’s contract! We need him”! haha, cracks me up
